South Wales Vets, Newport

Our first time using South Wales vets, and they were fantastic. Clean and friendly, and reasonably priced. The appointment with the vet was not rushed at all and she was friendly and thorough. Advice wasn't forced upon us like at some vets, advice was given when we asked for it and it was honest advice instead of advice just to try and sell us stuff. Instead of rushing the appointment the vet gently eased our new nervous puppy into being treated, which made the whole experience a lot better and by the end of it she was wagging her tail instead of cowering. Fantastic vets and so so glad we changed! Thanks so much!

My two pet mice have been registered here for a while now. Back near the start of the year, they both had respiratory infections, which were cured by the antibiotics given by the vet, who handled them with care and respect despite them not being the most usual of pets! Very sadly, one of them yesterday deteriorated very quickly, we had to go to an emergency vet who gave her pain relief to keep her comfortable until we could attend the Newport South Wales Vets practice this morning. Unfortunately, due to suspected liver failure and the suffering she was enduring, a decision was made with the help of the vet to have her put down rather than prolong her pain for further invasive testing. Everything was explained to me reassuringly, I was given a few minutes alone with her before she was gently taken to be put to sleep. A very sad vet trip, but I am very grateful for the kindness shown both to me and her.

Very good service, I had to take my mums cat to get checked and had an appointment open within the hour.

The vets are very close to my mother’s house in Malpas right of the main Malpas Road. Yeah you’re is very good for parking. They do have some parking at the back of the vets.

The vet gave me some strange news, my mum thought that you adopted cat was a boy and it turned out to be a girl after 3 years. She gave medicine to remove worms, also de bugging liquid, the cat now looks much better after a few days.

The service was very good and very fast. I was very happy with the outcome. .

Thanks once again to the amazing staff here at South Wales vets Newport, best experience I have ever had with their level of care and knowledge! The team is amazing! Will not go anywhere else.

A good fully professional practice that is well staffed and is obviously working hard to meet the needs of pet owners in this community.

All staff members very helpful and cheerful. The vet I saw was efficient and managed my little dog, who is very anxious when visiting the vet, with great care. He answered all of my questions and I left feeling that my dog had been well catered for. Excellent service!!!

Absolutely appalling experience with the Eastern European lady vet. Not a care for the dog. She was cold and only interested in the money.
We then went to another vet in town and had such a better polar experience.

I have been with these vets since I moved to Newport in 2020. They have always been helpful and explained everything in a why I can understand. They are really friendly, I have recommended them to all my friends
