Very well operated Lock. Good moorings (48 hours). Facilities available. Pretty lock cottages and lock keepers office with well tended flowerpots

Lock onto the river, now fully automated but the old lock gear still there, the windlass' are huge! nice bit of history for any one who likes the waterways.

A well kept tidy lock that still functions as the entrance to the fast flowing river Ouse on in/ out going tides. Flower beds well stocked, a place for quite reflection or even a picnic. A footpath along side this (Selby) canal can be strolled/ walked to the other locks at the river Aire.

Went to selby lock by river and canals on route to Ripon. Lock keeper was great, Informative and was there at 6am to let us out of the lock. Moorings in the basin were quiet and the waterways station there clean.

Waters always peaceful and an integral part of Selby's history, so a must see for anyone interested in its history or wanting a walk

Ya it.s nice enough and the towns lovely and some nice browsing shops be prepared for thick green weed lol

Interesting junction of a canal into a strong tidal river. As boaters, weve travelled the ouse many times, every time is an adventure.
