Everything smells of damp!!! If you are to drink good wine you can't have a strong smell of damp as otherwise you can't perceive the aromas and enjoy your wine as you should. If you are really into wine I wouldn't recommend this place.

Im am now replying to the Winemakers Club comment and I have downgraded the review to 1 and these are my reasons:
First of all I think it’s shameful that you think you are the only one with 20 years experience in the world of wine... do you know have much experience I have or the costumers that come to your wine bar? That makes me think that you simply think that you are the best and I’m sorry my friend I don’t think you are, especially after your answer...

Also, Google allows me to rate places based on my opinion (not yours) and my humble opinion (as a wine expert, sorry to tell you) is that your wine bar smells too much of damp, even more than these amazing dampy cellers that you mention.

And finally I didn’t want to write it in my first review but now that you are giving me the chance to do it I will also add that the waiter (tall middle aged man) was not nice at all
(unlike the younger male waiter) and seemed too occupied to take the time to serve us.

I hence didn’t like the wine bar overall and now after your clever answer even less...
Hence a 1 star.

Atypical place where you can enjoy a nice glass of wine. Didn’t try the food but it looked great !

We were really looking forward to trying this place and ended up a little disappointed. We had a glass of wine each which was just alright and a really scrappy cheeseboard and payed £30. The cheese board had half pieces of cheese (only one tiny piece of blue) and did not come with butter or preserves. It was really small for the £10 it cost, the board mostly covered in bread. For a wine bar, their selection of wines by the glass was limited and expensive. My glass of Sauvignon blanc was warm. We typically like places like this with a rustic charm but the price point should have reflected that.

Limited selection of wines in a unique location staffed by friendly and helpful folks. Worth a visit and your support. We had a go with a Swiss Pinot Noir by the glass which was a first for me. Great experience. We also picked by a couple of Burgundy’s for the road.

Authentic Wine bar, situated in Holborn centre with a beautiful atmosphere. Great selection of wine, from everywhere and all types, combined with cheeses is absolutely delicious.

Not great experience. The wine was ok but one of the glasses was dirty. Also the room was cold and humid. I understand it is a former cellar but maybe it is suitable for hosting bottles, not humans.

Great wine tasting experience on a Monday night.

It was super quiet as it was Monday but we were given some bonus sparkling wine while we waited for others in the group to arrive. There was a projector that showed information for each wine we tasted and we were given lots of time to discuss and chat between tasting each wine. A flavour wheel and a list of the wines we tasted provided. All the wines we tried were delicious and you get 10% off them at the end of you wish to purchase any. Our charcuterie board was also delicious and they gave us lots of bread to snack on too. And a bonus sweet wine to finish!

It was informative but still relaxed and casual, and the pouring is generous! Definitely recommend.

Great wine bar, huge selection of wines available with delicious charcuterie, cheese and other snacks available. Lovely decor and intend to come back for some retail wine shopping soon as well.
