Hof's Bar and Dining

Came in here around 4.30pm on a Tuesday afternoon, fairly quiet, and received a warm
welcome. A friendly staffed place, with a smart bar, lovely furnishings and nice atmosphere.
Dog friendly too, and our pooch was provided with a dog bowl so he was refreshed as well as us!
Would recommend this place to others.

Popped in for a quick pint before heading off for a curry. Ended up staying 'til closing, enjoying a phenomenal tomahawk (cote de boeuf) steak, and washed down with a very pleasant bottle of the house red. Great food, great atmosphere, and topped off with great service, particularly from Ilanna!! Thank you

Great spot just off the main street. Excellent food selection which is delicious, the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and the wine selection is well thought out and well priced.

Unfortunately we have just had a very expensive and disappointing evening at The Hof in Henley. The food was tasty and well cooked but was not good value for money and the service was appalling. The restaurant was busy as it was a live music night but none of the tables appeared to be getting any food! There were several complaints coming from other tables about waiting times and in total we waited for 2 hours and 20 minutes for main courses. We had to remind the waiter 3 times for our drinks order and when the bill came we were charged for drinks we hadn’t had! When we discussed our disappointment with the manageress, she proceeded to tell us that everyone is struggling at the moment with the cost of living and prices of everything were increasing. It wasn’t particularly helpful and we didn’t really feel as though she cared or wanted to improve our experience.
We left feeling disappointed and reluctant to return.

It's not the classic Sunday roast but was so delicious, slow cooked beef ribs with spices , comes with vegetables roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. . Was so tender , the meat didn't need any extra gravy. It's one of theat meals that you will remember !! Can't wait to go back again!!

I cannot overstate how EXQUISITE the food was, just what I was hoping for. 🤩 OK, now for the rest... Service was... weird. We arrived before our friends and went straight to the table. When our friends arrived about 10 minutes later, the Manager (who had just seated us), offered to show them to a different area in the bar for a drink first! Strange. I don't know if something weird had happened last night, but our table was one of only 3 covers, so it was hardly busy. We had to remind staff to bring us water, our friend's first cocktail was missing the prosecco shot, and our food took forever to come out. We were offered bread while we waited, we said no thanks, but bread arrived a while later anyway, I think because they knew our starters were delayed. I would've preferred a quick "we're having some problems" explanation. I felt sorry for the young waiter, he was keen, but it kind of felt like he'd been given a notepad and told to get on with it. He didn't know how to pronounce some of the key dishes, and he didn't know what was in them. We had starters, mains & puddings, and it was ALL AMAZING. We weren't in a rush so it worked out. We're definitely going back. I'm just hoping service will smoother. I didn't get photos of the starters because we devoured them as soon as they arrived!

Amazing meal tonight, can highly recommend hof's Bush board. Extraordinary meat superbly well cooked, if you have not been book now. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu. Great to find a superb restaurant in Henley-on-Thames.

Had great fun on Saturday night and enjoyed the live acoustic guitar/singer. Great fun and a friendly place. Would definitely go back again next time we are in Henley.
