The food was excellent and cooked to perfection.
The only downside was we had to wait a long time for our meals.
The poor young lad that served us was taking food orders, serving drinks, serving the food clearing tables and also taking your payments.
It wouldn't stop me going back due to the quality of the food.
Good value for money.
If the staffing issues were sorted, you would be a 5 star all day long.

Absolutely fantastic everytime we visit! The staff are lovely and so accomodating, the food is spot on! Very generous portions and always brilliant quality, especially the Linc's sausages! We always favour here as the kids play area out the back is fantastic, clean and fenced off so they can enjoy themselves while they wait for food and we can relax in the sun!

First visit - starters was yummy and came quick :). Hand the slow cooked pork and mushrooms. Love the children's play area too, but after that it was a down hill journey.... Service is just slow I asked where ours were and was told there is a queue but we were the first ones there to order and there were only two other tables at the time? We waited over an hour for the mains which was ok, and fair portion size so I could overlook the wait.

Second visit - gave them the benefit of the doubt from the first visit and ordered a Sunday Roast. This time I asked how long the wait would be and was told maximum 20mins yet again after 30mins nothing went to follow up and after disappearing in the kitchen for 2mins was told 15mins more. So food finally was served after at total of 45min wait in total. Not good considering there were only a few other tables hardly a packed restaurant

All the staff are too young, almost children, disorganised and not knowing how to run a pub. I don't blame them. The food wasn't great, beef was chewy and the rest was like it was warmed up in a microwave. There needs to be a proper adult in the front of house and giving directions. If this place was organised properly it would be great. We won't be going back for a long time now because of the long wait and disappointment in mains. I hope better reviews supersede this one then we might make a return!

My best friend treated me to lunch on Friday at the Castle. I really enjoyed the food and there was lots of it.
The chicken melt was delicious so nice I have cooked it for my friend who has arrived from London for the weekend. Thanks for recipe .
My friend had a veggi lasagna also yummy.
The waitress was very nice and all in all it was a nice little afternoon break.
I would recommend it highly specially if you hungry as the servings are generous.

Went for my husband birthday meal .. was left really disappointed. Food was awful . Half the drinks was unavailable.. the restaurant was freezing Evan the kids kept their coats on . Service was so poor and waiting nearly 2 hours. Wouldn't recommend. We all left our food. Wouldn't go back.
