Great two nights! Myself, my husband and dogs had a very comfortable stay. Rooms/en suite clean and functional. Amazing value for money and excellent breakfast! If I had to make a criticism it would be that the pub has varying closing times depending on custom and because the pub is remote there is no alternative which means we had a couple of early nights…. I will bare this in mind on my next visit and totally understand the reasoning behind it in the current climate. New management since our last visit four years ago and a noticeably improved. We will definitely be back as we have family in the village. Great location to for all The Lakes has to offer.

the staff were so kind and helpful, the building has great history and character, we had a claw foot bath in our huge ensuite, the bed was super comfy, lovely decor downstairs, the breakfast was delicious, they have their own blend of house tea, lovely toiletries, we loved everything about our stay. highly recommend. thank you.

Proper pub! The staff work so hard, the food looked good and there was a really great and friendly atmosphere. Busy and energetic in one area, but with enough space for a quiet table to one side if you want. Great selection of beers with locals on tap. Dog and family friendly.

The Derby Arms was a little quirky inside as we ate in the pub area due to having a dog. Restaurant side did look to be a nicer standard. Really dog friendly as I think every table in the pub had one. Food was not on a standard menu but a specials board depending on what seasonal changes. We had a trio of sausages and beef bourguignon with starters. All food tasted great and was nice to have a common dish with a twist on the sausages. Something not everywhere caters for.

Lovely country pub. Cosy open fires and beers on tap. We had some food and that was really nice too.
We also stayed the night in one of the rooms and would definitely stay again next time we're in the lakes.
Highly recommended.

Wife and I stayed for one night while on way back to Shetland and loved it. Lovely friendly staff, great food, roaring fire, real ales, toasty room, great decor. Highly recommended!!

Biggest bonfire yet was very very poor, meant to be a family night yet £8 hotdogs and £9 burgers was unreal and fireworks that last 4 and a half mins to top it all off after an event that started nearly 3 hours earlier, was very disappointing. Bonfire was not that big either 🤦🏻‍♂️
I'm new to the area and it's my first time going there, won't be going again for a long time.
