Excellent meal and drinks and lovely, friendly staff.

Stayed here for the night in my campervan in the carpark (call ahead first!) and so glad I did. Beautiful pub in a beautiful setting. I didn't eat , but had a some drinks which were reasonably priced. Bar staff lovely and welcoming. Couldn't ask for better.

Visited last night. Food was fantastic. Staff were extremly helpful and polite and the atmosphere was really nice and relaxed.
Having only been open a couple of weeks with a new managment team, they are doing a great job.
We look forward to visiting again soon.

We had to book , they were very very busy. We had a most enjoyable evening, as usual , one of our favourite eating houses. Seven of us in total , five had Steaks ( cooked by our goodselvs on the Slate ) , and two had fish and chips because they had steak for Dinner the day before. I chose the Fillet, full of flavour, nearly as tender as me and delicious. The service was quick and efficient , carried out by some courteous, smiley customer friendly young people . The wine was the right temperature and price and seemed to evaporate. We will be back again very soon. Try not to book on a Friday, that is our night. Just remember to book otherwise you might not get a table. 😋😍🍷

Horse and jockey was fabulous as always and it is a real shame, the family who are running it now, are leaving on the 30th September. Many people who are local to the area, haven't supported this pub, when they needed to. If you don't use a pub and restaurant, you lose it, and unfortunately the people who are running it, cannot make it pay anymore. Its so very sad.

Ordered a takeaway roast from here and it was excellent - really enjoyed it! Will be back again.

Update: Went back recently and had one of their lunchtime light bites - was absolutely delicious and some of the best battered fish I've had.

Lovely food, great atmosphere.
Very welcoming by the relatively new licensees.
Will definitely be going again

Just enjoyed a cream tea at the Horse and Jockey. Quality food, lots of it and with a good mix of sweet and savoury treats. The young lady who served us was polite and efficient. Happy to recommend.
