The Rising Sun Ale House and Kitchen

Friendly local pub in a quiet village just outside of Sawbridgeworth, that clearly take pride in well kept real ale served on gravity. We tried the Tring Colleys Dog and Oakham Citra, and they were both in absolutely spot on condition. Two other ales on gravity as well. Pub has modern decor, but still feels homely. I definitely plan to go back.

New restaurant area opened upstairs this week which we tried for Sunday lunch. It was the best meal we have had in many years (beautifully presented and exceptionally tasty) and the service and ambience was also excellent. Cannot recommended highly enough.

I was staying locally, visiting from Spain, and fancied a pint and a Sunday lunch. Was sad to see the pub open for drinks only!

Great Ale choice. Only one lager on draught but plenty of bottled lager to choose from. Lovely local atmosphere.

Yippee - the rising sun is open and the beer is as fantastic as always. Garden is new and improved with lovely chairs and tables. Well worth a visit.......
