The Live & Let Live

This pub is tucked down a little lane, which to be honest unless you know it is there you probably wouldn't notice. Have popped in a couple of times a few years back, but not recently. Had noticed that they have a garden so decided to go again and sit outside. Whilst there we then decided to get some food.

Food was well priced and good size, and tasted good too. They also have kids meals, but these were £5 which isn't quite as well priced as the adult meals...! They also have plenty of drinks choices, the wife particularly liked the gins. A few craft type beers and proper cider also available.

The garden has some beach hut style areas to sit but also picnic benches. Fair bit of space outside. Staff were friendly and were able to recommend drinks which is always nice when your not sure...!

Well worth 5 * Rating, good well prepared quality/quantity food with well stocked lagers and independent ales ciders and various spirits, a prompt polite friendly service at a good price. There is plenty of room outside with their beach hut themed beer garden. Look forward to going there again.

Wonderful evening. Great hosts. Amazingly attentive to food intolerances and I enjoyed a very lovely gluten free meal and come away with everything I need to know to book a yummy GF Xmas meal. All as well as friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere, thank you ☺️☺️☺️

Visited today first time after years my child attended Stanway Primary School and never visited before. What a great surprise! Meals are home cooked, we ordered Cod and chips, and also Omelette. Omelette custom made to perfection with delicious halloumi fries, just perfect! They asked me what I would prefer in my omelette! Thank you, all my favourite ingredients were available. Perfect pub home made meals, tasty and quality made. Little gem in Stanway, Colchester. Thank you for our family lunch out today. We were surely not disappointed at all!! Frost family of 4 x

We were recommended to try the Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. We were a party of 12 and everyone commented on the excellent service from the young staff. We were warned that the ‘large’ dinner requires a healthy appetite and you could see why!
The only disappointment was the pork had run out however, that still left the beef and chicken.
Our plan for our next visit is to make our booking for a little earlier in the day.
It was great to see a local pub with plenty of happy patrons and staff.

Great Family run old style pub , many different beers and Ciders. Amazing Food ,
Especially for the price. Sunday Roast is so popular your best to book first .
Lovely Atmosphere and well worth a visit .

I would Strongly recommend this Pub for a family visit or if on your own you will be welcomed. I myself Enjoy going to the Live and Let Live whenever I get the chance.
Tuesday is only day there is No kitchen.

Great beer , well kept with a fantastic selection of real ales that is always changing & good home cooking, what more do you need from a Pub !
