This is a lovely little pub and restaurant. Friendly and welcoming service, ample seating in and outdoor, plenty of parking and a lovely atmosphere. They were also welcoming our dog with biscuit and water
On arrival.

Nice menu too - Had to try something from the smoker and went with a smoked beef board; fantastic, especially for the price.

I will defo return here one day.

It’s worth the little drive to come here so visit today!

Nice pub, friendly staff with a nice beer garden. However pint of beer was very pricey (I guess inflation but £5.50 is quite high imo) and we visited after the BBQ closed Saturday afternoon and was only serving meats left over from the BBQ, no option for anything else (non-meat!) so ate elsewhere.

The Silent Woman is a local favourite of ours. Tucked just outside the bustle of the town, its in an area of natural beauty near the forest. Under the brand new management, the Pub benefits from a delicious traditional menu, an eclectic selection of beers and spirits, excellent facilities and gardens with the hospitality to suit all, including your pets coming along for the trip. Friendly and warm, you'll enjoy your time here, every single time. We done to the new team for getting the atmosphere perfect.

Sadly the 'warm' pictures online and 'welcoming vibe' they offer was not our experience. They took our booking for a table a week prior to the date, on our arrival that night the kitchen had been closed for the season!

We explained to the staff present that we had a booking and the response was 'the system didn't notify me'. We were then reminded that the kitchen was closed!

We made comment of the fact we walked from the local campsite in the dark down a sketchy road .... to reminded again the kitchen was closed.

So, we DO NOT RECOMMEND this establishement as we did not receive the 'warm and welcoming' pictures that advertise the pub. They could have rung us to cancel the booking, that would have been absolutely acceptable, they could have offered us a pint and suggested for us to call a takeaway (we would have loved that and walking in the cold and wet would have been worth it).

On talking to other campers the morning after, they commented on how negative thier experiences have also been. One camper even stated 'we get a takeaway as its not worth running the risk they aren't serving'

Such a shame we would have loved to have enjoyed this pub.

Visited here over the festive season…excellent traditional bar. Service was really good with knowledgeable staff who were attentive without being overbearing. Large range of Gin and real ales along with cider and extensive selection of wine. The festive decorations were very tasteful and the atmosphere was lovely. Wide choice of menu items to suit all tastes. The bar and facilities were extremely clean and well appointed. Parking available and full disability access (as far as I could tell)…I would suggest booking a table as the restaurant can get quite busy according to “locals” whom we chatted too..highly recommend this place and we will visit again if in the area

We have just returned from an amazing lunch . The Sunday roast was fabulous . I had the beef which was cooked to perfection . My husband had the veggie Wellington , which was the best he’s ever had . It was also good to have your veggies served on the side so you could have ad much or as little as you want . The cauliflour cheese looked amazing , my husband it was very tasty. Fabulous value too.
Jay and his staff were very welcoming and provided a brilliant service . We will definitely return again the next time we are in wareham . Thank you for the perfect way to end our holiday . Best wishes to you all
