Very nice, the chicken and mushroom pie was delicious, though brought in a far too hot bowl. It would have taken ages to cool down but by using a napkin, I was able to tip it out onto the plate. Wondered why the bill was up a bit, turns out discretionary 10% is added to the bill! Who knew, nit me. Nevertheless, a very nice pie and a pint. Well worth a visit

Beautiful place, delightful to eat outside. Friendly and efficient staff, excellent choice of delicious food. The best chips I’ve ever tasted. Also, I would definitely recommend the chocolate brownie for dessert. Many thanks for a wonderful evening.

Stopped off for lunch today, off Russ parking loads of tables inside and out and friendly service straight away.

There was brunch menu at midday which was great, I went for Pan fried duck breast off a la carte menu.

Couldn’t have been better, crispy, juicy, tasty duck, perfect dauphinoise potatoes and greens were great.

Service was automatically added, really good experience and highly recommended to everyone.

Four of us had different meals and they were all of a high standard and very tasty and I loved the vegan Wellington.

Top rate pub!! Super friendly staff / owners.
Renovated in last couple of years and it looks great. Superb outdoor area and bar which is great for walkers.
The rooms are basic but functional.
Plenty of tea and coffee supplied which is great.
The breakfast menu has many choices and what's cooked is tasty, plentiful and we'll presented.
About 3 miles from Amersham Tube station which is about £12-£15 in a taxi.

We were at a dear friends wake here and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were on hand all the time for anything that was needed. Lovely friendly personal and cosy place to be. Thank you everyone involved. (Des O'Byrnes Wake)

Very disappointing. Given that the cost is almost the same as the Hampton Hilton hotel just a few miles away, the standard is poor. The bathroom floor was filthy, as can be seen by a photo of a tissue I used to wipe the floor. The bathroom shelf was hanging off. The bedroom furniture was very old, cheap and falling apart. A photo shows the back of the wardrobe coming off. Bizarrely, the bedroom furniture was full of spare linen, towels and bathroom supplies with hardly any space to store our own things! The TV was tiny and ancient.... too small to read on-screen text from the bed. A scrappy "Mind your head" sign stuck to the door lintel with Elastoplast! A variety of used glassware left in the room from previous guests (including can of deodorant and coins in bedside drawer). Whilst the location was quiet, the room was very noisy from the bar immediately below. It was too noisy to sleep until 00:10am on one night. No space to park car because of pub visitors. Unclear breakfast arrangements - website says served in room (there was marmalade and milk in our in-room fridge) but it was actually available in the bar!! Breakfast was very good but just not properly advertised and not clear what was included in the price. In dire need of investment. Not recommended.
