A small pub with big garden! The app said it will tale 40 minutes to have the order booked so we qued and we got the drinks faster. The service seemed to be more in inside then outside so having more staff could be better. Having some kombucha options will be better as well. The interior was nice but soft drinks was over priced.

I visited the pub several times due to the nice garden and good beer selection. But the past weekend my partner and I decided to get two cocktails instead of a beer. The two spritzers (two different ones) priced between 7 and 8 pounds were the worst I have ever had. It was basically water with the tiniest amount of alcohol. When I get a cocktail I expect alcohol rather than water and ice. We had about half of tese very pricey waters (as in the picture) and left the rest there.
I am not sure I will be going back.

My visit was, I hope, atypical as the pub had run out of supplies and closed the kitchen at Sunday lunch time. The Bear is famous for its collection of college/school/club ties

Nice small pub in a good location right next to Christ Church College. Has indoor and outdoor heated seating which is a good choice since the inside is pretty small. Polite bartenders and quick service. Great place to go to be amazed by how old it is est. 1242! A must when doing a pub crawl.

It's a tiny old pub. If you like centuries old pub's, it's fantastic. The oldest pub in Oxford. Food is served, would recommend booking if possible to ensure a table. There is outside seating under cover of a large markque. Worth a visit.

An ancient pub in Oxford. The bear had it all. Low ceilings and good beer.

Just don't wear a tie.

Delicious! One of the best roads dinners we ever had! Especially the vegetarian option!
Fast and lovely service.
Definitely recommend!

Watch your head! The outdoor seating is fantastic and the indoor nice and quaint with lots of old ties and momentos inside. The staff was very nice, the prices fair, although the whiskey selection could be a bit broader. Recommend as a nice spot once it gets a bit dark out.
