The Jack Russell

I visited your wonderful pub/restaurant a couple of weeks ago.

I have to say the food here is absolutely fantastic. I had the 8oz Sirloin steak and it was one of the best I have tasted in years.

The atmosphere in the Jack Russell was very family friendly.

I highly recommend this pub/restaurant to anyone who visits the area.

I know when I visit my family again I will make sure that I will visit again.

A lovely family run pub. I’ve been coming to the Jack Russell for the last few years as, although I’m from Birmingham, I come down to Swimbridge regularly along with other family members given it’s fantastic scenery and sights. This wonderful pub is in the heart of the village and well worth visiting.

The owners and all the other staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the food and service is always superb we even got chatting briefly with one of the friendly waitresses when we went in last Wednesday night who recommended some sights for of the other sights to see across North Devon which was very helpful!

Both the steak night on Wednesday and Sunday dinner are especially worth doing if you get the chance as the meat and vegetables offered are all incredibly fresh. The layout of the pub is also nicely done with a nice bar area and separate restaurant seating area, making it ideal whether you plan on popping in for a drink or a meal. Highly recommended!

On holiday in the area & our hosts recommended The Jack Russell, so we booked in advance, & very glad we did!
Great meals for all 4 of us who were dining. Lovely family feel & great service. Couldn't fault it!

Not able give a very valuable critique as our party were the main people in for lunch on a Friday. However it's probably worth recording that the food was very good and everyone enjoyed the meal. The food was well presented, hot and arrived with no undue wait. The staff were helpful and solicitous that we were all happy with the lunch. We would all be happy to go again. A slight disappointment was there was no cask ale, a delivery we were told was expected. Parking was limited and we parked on the road outside.

Food was delicious and they squeezed us in when they were fully booked. Only downside was how loud it was! However it did have a good atmosphere and the service was very good.

10 of us went today for Sunday lunch... And we were not disappointed!

The pub itself is newly refurbished and is beautifully clean and very obviously cared for.

The food was served hot, was of fantastic quality and was very plentiful. The service was relaxed and attentive.

I look forward to my next visit and meal!

The newly refurbished & redesigned bar is excellent & very comfortable. The Jack Russell has always been very a cordial but it is now even more so.

Came here for a last minute Sunday lunch and was quickly seated in the bar no problem. Great portions and delicious food. Lovely cosy family pub
