Stopped off in here waiting for my family during the Arsenal v Man City match and was greeted with a classic local pub. The barkeep seemed to know everyone and as an unknown he quickly greeted me and asked me what I wanted.

A great atmosphere and a real British pub. I asked for a cup of tea and though it clearly wasnt the tipple of choice during the match he quickly knocked up a great one and gave it to me for free.

Wonderful, real pub! Great match banter!

The kitchen is under new management and is providing good reasonably priced food. The pub awaits decorating and updating, apparently scheduled for the spring. Will make a cracking venue when completed.

Fine. Loads of geezers sitting around the (smashed in) door as you come in that has a sign on it saying you have to take your cap off. Got serious 'locals only' vibes. But having said all that service was lovely and the garden was really nice.

Hidden gem found this afternoon near Carshalton Station. Nice bar, really friendly land lady and excellent Guinness. Just moved to the area and think I’ve found my new local. Best Guimness in town, no question. Thanks for the warm welcome too!

It's a small pub but very friendly. TV's showing sport and news coverage. No pool table but a nice pub garden out back. Also of note is they don't serve food. I wouldn't let that put you off though, if you are a local, it is a great little pub for you
