Good pub, shows premier league football. No cask ales and the prices are about 5£ a point (so normal for London). Nice, trendy vibe. Exposed brickwork. Pizza is the main food. Dart board too! 👍

My first visit to the Black Horse, I have enjoyed it immensely. I was made to feel welcome, excellent service from behind the bar. Rugby on the telly, stopped for an extra one and a pizza, both touched the heart! However, if you are a real ale fan....... All is Cask. Lovely visit, lovely people.

- the fish and chips were wonderful. the - - place well clean and tidy. - great quality of food and beer. - very friendly and nice. - the price was only a bit high but it's okay anyway. the only thing missing is having music, otherwise everything else is perfect

Awkward inside spaces - 4x booths or awful free tables squeeze between bar & booths. Pool table taking up lots of covers space.
Weird undecided vibe - 40% Camden rock pub (attitude vs coolness), 40% chain american pub, 20% locals only estate pub. Place is just weird.

Avoid Blackhorse until they change out beer lines or just order spirits, wine, and bottles
The beer lines in this pub have been an issue for years. Unfortunately over lockdown they remained closed and did not replace the lines so they have likely suffered additional damage. I regularly frequented Blackhorse over the year or so prior to lockdown and they had great beer and great pizza. Sad to see that they can't fix the lines problem. For reference I had 3 tastings from different taps and all were clearly mouldy by taste. The bartender did mention that all lines had just been cleaned but another patron also had issues with their beer.

It's no secret that I think the Dog and Bell is a gold star in the Deptford pub landscape but the black horse is on route to be a contender.
There is a calming atmosphere in the black dog while they serve up hype local Brick Brewery it’s literally brewed around the corner.
If you lurk around Deptford definitely get The Black Horse on your list.

I don’t normally give bad reviews, but yesterday was the second time I’d gone to this pub and have been given bad beer that tasted off. I wouldn’t be so frustrated if it wasn’t for the bartender who was very rude when we asked if it was possible to get something else, saying things like we had ‘wasted his stock’ when we had ordered beer that ended up tasting and looking completely different to what we’d asked for. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the beer or the staff.
