Pre birthday treat: Delicious Doombar battered fish n chips.
I've ordered fish n chips over twenty times this year across four countries and never tried it here before. I've just experienced the best of these for £11.50p
The chips were perfection along with the mushy peas complimented by patient friendly service, it was all top draw! To cap it all on Wednesday nights the desserts are FREE. The Doombar Ale & the Shiraz were also excellent.

Amazing Sunday lunch!
Popped in without a booking, and we were quickly found a table. The food was absolutely fantastic, and that cauliflower cheese was fantastic. I would definitely recommend a visit, and I am planning a return visit. Top work.

Waited more than 30 minutes for server to take order and you could tell that the dessert was microwaved as the dish was hot but the chocolate/orange cake was hot in the centre only . Had to wait for cutlery.

Great price on cake n coffee. Cake not brilliant coffee ditto but 99p each Wow! Good service, cosy surroundings, sufficient parking. Good place to meet up with friends for a chat. Relaxed atmosphere.

Out to lunch with auntie from Welwyn she suggested the Red Lion, Woolmer Green. Such a great surprise. A welcome smile from mine host & from the other diners, we made ourselves comfortable & checked out the menu. Another surprise in that most meals were offered in small or large, which is like music to my ears, well eyes. Three of the four of us chose small, but these were completely sufficient. Wish I lived closer as I'd be there every week or more often. Must visit auntie more!!

Xmas lunch for 6 yesterday, just perfect. From the welcome through 3 courses to the coffees and goodbyes could not have been better. Excellent Xmas dinner as close a great Christmas dinner at home as you can get. 4 of the party had the traditional Turkey lunch and 2 opted for the Swordfish. Thankyou RedLion.

Highly Recommend

Had a fantastic time today at the Winter Wonderland at the Red Lion. Lots of stalls, great for kids and adults alike. The owners of the reindeer were so nice and gave us lots of interesting facts about them. Definitely worth the visit.

Great pub with nice food, the beer is kept very well too which is always what I look for in a good pub. Staff very friendly and helpful, great management = great pub!
