The Royal

The Royal in itself is a nice place to be, the decor is inviting and the clientele friendly. Drinks and food are reasonably priced and the premises clean. However unprofessional Management has really let the place down. Bookings are handled unprofessionally (No ring backs after constant chasing, Rude, unhelpful and childish demeanor when finally contacted through the Facebook page) and the staff although friendly also do not show professional interest in the customer thats expected, preferring to make the customer wait while one looks at there mobile phone and one reads the paper. Its a shame as there is potential for The Royal but lack of care will just reduce it to the dive it once was despite the Events posted. Real shame

Came here in the day on a Saturday, pretty dead, but friendly staff, reasonable prices for drinks, clean, close to the station.

If you are looking for a pub to be a pub, this is it.

Had a funeral wake yesterday at this pub and I cannot praise the management enough for how well they catered for us with hot drinks and food. They were patient as were late but management did not mind this at all. They were fantastic and just wanted to please. Excellent service!

Decent pub, nice local crowd, very nice interior. Unfortunately they don't serve a good variety of beers/ciders/ales, and their prices have been increasing.

Walked in and was ignored by all the staff.
Only when I was about to leave was I served.
2 people in at the time so they had their hands full. This pub has went downhill big time.

Good for a couple drinks. No food being served as I am aware of. Better on Saturday and Friday nights.
