Drinks are expensive for non-London prices. E.g. a pint of Kronenberg cost £4.30, whereas literally next door at 'the bell', it costs about £2.50.
The food is also pretty expensive, but isn't bad - this chips and cheese, for example, is £3.50 for a relatively small portion, but tastes nice and fresh. However, do steer clear of the 'Fish Friday's deal. The poster makes it look good, but it's just a frozen bird's-eye fillet.
Those are the only downsides, though. For a night out, it's probably the most welcoming place in Aylesbury, and has really well looked after pool tables. The staff are extremely friendly and chatty. Everyone of all ages from all walks of life are welcome.
This would be my favourite pub on Aylesbury if the prices were more reasonable.

Haven't been in this pub for years but it has changed hands since then. It was open mic night when I went and although I wasn't expecting that much I can honestly say I had an incredibly entertaining and enjoyable evening. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and they have a good selection of drinks. They also welcome dogs which is an added bonus. I will definitely be going back, and I'm taking the dog with me!

While it's a pricier pub than other local establishments such as Wetherspoons, it's a far more enjoyable atmosphere. We enjoyed watching the football, the food is good and we were served by the friendliest barman I've ever known (curly hair wearing a red and black checked shirt if you're reading!). Also a couple of pool tables, a dart board and board games too. A great place for us to enjoy some drinks after work and we will be returning.

This place could have so much potential if it weren't for the narcissistic nightmare of a landlord. (Neil?) If things don't go he's way then you're barred. Such a shame as staff wee nice but seem controlled by he's domineering mentality. No character or loving if given , the neglect shows throughout the venue.

They have really cone back with gusto since restrictions have eased during Covid-19. They make sure to collect track and trace details (unlike a few other local pubs!) Plus they have decent perspex screens up which don't make you feel penned in. Bar staff are friendly without being cloying, plus they are accepting the Mon-Weds help to eat out scheme for August. Highly recommended!

If I’m honest it was pretty basic. Burger patty was same standard as one you’d get from a burger van on the a41.
Plastic cheese and dusty bun also chips where like cardboard..
The wings and halloumi fries were okay.
I know the price probably reflects the quality but there we go..we took a risk ordering for first time don’t think we’ll be going back.
Cheap but not so cheerful

Great food and drinks, lovely friendly staff.
Had an amazing burger and drinks not overpriced like other pubs and bars. Looking forward to returning.
