Never had a chicken and leek pie with brown leeks before. Gravy gelatinous and cold with seasonal vegetables out of season, raw and brown. Everything had gone past it’s best then glooped on a plate and shoved in the microwave with chicken solid as a result. Best bit was the chips which were classic pub goodness. Wouldn’t waste your money on the food.

Called in for breakfast, ordered 1full English and 1 smoked haddock.
Bacon was overcooked black pudding was tough and salty.
Mushroom was also over salty.
Haddock was tough as if over cooked in microwave, only nice thing was poached egg.
We did complain but no refund was offered and we didn't want second helpings as the 1st was bad enough, won't be going there again.we were charged £30 for 2 breakfasts that were inedible .

When booking a table for 4, it was requested that a vegan menu would be provided, this was agreed. However, when we arrived there was no provision for a vegan diet, she ended up with a bowl of barely cooked vegetables. The chicken and leek pie was inedible due to the crust being hard, the chips presented were only just edible, my fish was Coley, cheap and cheerful, with very little taste. A very unsatisfactory first visit. Waiter was pleasant, and tried to help. Won’t be going again.

Lovely food & drinks. However on arrival we were not greated, instead barman moaned re girl on break saying he was up at 7 then cycling plus he needed a wee. Had to go to bar to order, get butter for bread plus sauces then again for bill. Shame as Lovely pub let down by a few staff

We had a one night stay at the Talbot at Knightwick and the experience was awesome. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with the sink in King Charles and Flavian and Jai (or Jay) did their best to get it sorted for us which was really appreciated. The breakfast was delicious and served with morning wishes and happy smiles. The location is very serene and you can walk to a nearby church and stream which is really soothing. We would definitely recommend.

Rooms are basic, but comfortable. Food is very good. Had an excellent Dinner and substantial inclusive breakfast. Great beer garden next to the river.

We booked last minute for Sunday lunch, this place had been recommended to us by a couple of people.
I think we must have caught them on a bad day as all bar the youngest staff member seemed disinterested and we almost felt like an inconvenience.
Food was ok but not more than that I'm afraid, shame because we don't live far away and would likely go a fair bit but it does seem to be a 'local pub for local people'.
