The Kings Lodge Bar and Restaurant

The staff were very friendly. The food was good and reasonable price; but the shower needs a bit of care and attention other than that not too bad.

We were here on this occasion celebrating the life of a good friend following her funeral. We had been here prior to this attending a retirement party of another friend and on both occasions the food, service and friendliness of the staff was 5 star.
The only down side here is the limited parking spaces and the toilets that could do with a re-vamp.

Car parking was a bit of a squeeze the night we where there otherwise good.

We were visited The Kings Lodge today for lunch and found it a great place to meet and eat with friends. The food was excellent and the service could not have been better. The final bill was very good value. The Kings Lodge has history, pleasant regular customers and a lovely fireplace, that gives it a very good atmosphere. The toilets were pleasant and clean. Our thank to all the staff. For the record our party was made up of a young family (parents & 2 children 5 and 2) together with 2 friends ("over 70"). We all had a wonderful time.

Lovely staff, lovely food. Rooms were brilliant.
Stairs up to the rooms could use a revamp.
Building has a lot of character due to its age.
Staff went above and beyond. Would stay again.

We were a group of 20 a couple of days before Christmas day and the staff pulled out all the stops, food was as described, hot and tasty, they coped very well, will definitely go again.
Also reasonable priced.

Beautiful 400 yr old pub. Fantastic people, warm welcome and lovely food. Would definitely stay again. Thank you. 😊

All I can say is this is the best place to eat. Delicious home made food. Portions are fantastic as well. You really will miss out if you don't visit here.
