The Roebuck Inn

Left another pub down the road as we were disappointed with the menu and lack of service. Came here, massive selection and very surprised at the good prices. I'd highly recommend it.

Accommodating and friendly. It's worth the drive. I had visited a week ago on a return trip to Lewes. I wasn't hungry i just wanted to order a glaas of wine preferably NZ SB Malborough. They didn't have and was offered French instead. I chose to have a vodka and soda. I enquired about their Sunday Roast and today a friend of mine and I had the opportunity of tasting a Pork and Beef. Their veg was small pickings but no fault of their's as we called in late. And here is where they were accommodating and offered us a portion of complimentary cauliflower cheese. The meat was generous. I was curious to see how things were progressing with a change of ownership. I've been witness to a few over the years and I can honestly say with the welcoming and engaging attitude of the staff and the presented food these guys are on the right track. It lost a star because of the lack of quality of wine. When you are serving premium food it should be accompanied by premium wine. I would like to give a special mention to Indie and Meg. Thank you.

We came here for our Sunday lunch this afternoon, the roast dinner was lovely! And the kids menu was great, especially with it being a Sunday. The kids enjoyed the play area and the service and the staff was also brilliant. Highly recommend.

Sunday roast doesn’t come much better, I’ve tried many a roast in many a Sussex pub and the Roebuck does the best.
The staff are great, the venue is welcoming and the ingredients are the finest - plus mostly locally sourced.

We've just had a wonderful roast dinner, very relaxed atmosphere and lovely cheerful staff - the best meal out we've had in quite a few months - thank you!

Friendly helpful staff. A decent bed in a warm room with a fantastic bathroom for the price. Breakfast was also decent with friendly a tentative service.

Sunday roasts were lovely & highly recommend the lemon curd cheesecake.
Could do better on the service though, left waiting a long time to order, extra gravy never came & had to order one round of drinks twice! Also had to track down someone in order to pay.

It was okay. For anyone vegetarian wishing to eat there are only two vegetarian options on the menu. On the day we went they were out of the other option so there was only one thing available that a member of our party could eat. Nowadays with there being so many vegans and vegetarians out there should be more options available on the menu.
