Perkin Warbeck - JD Wetherspoon

Lovely food, loads of options and nice staff. It sells a variety of alcohol drinks and has TWO main entrances. Removes the purpose of a main entrance, but cool anyhow. Very big pub. I recommend you eat here.

Went 4 lunch here with my daughter & grandchildren. Had a lovely meal, reasonably priced. The staff was friendly I say the staff as its lunch time & only one girl behind the bar taking lunch orders & serving drink. Poor think was rushed off her feet. Help came in the end after waiting 20 minutes stood at the bar too be served.

The Perkin Warbeck is a large Wetherspoons with a very deep interior. It is a bit dark and claustrophobic if you sit in the middle. Good value in the middle of Taunton. There is a pretty outside area at the rear.

Very friendly and helpful staff, well priced food, basic in presentation. Very large town centre pub, plenty of seating, bit tired though, could do with a refurb. OK for a basic pub meal though. Had lunch here, quite busy but fast service at bar and meal delivery.

Sadly this pub lets itself down purely and simply by too many chiefs and not enough Indians, suicide behind the bar at times, yet mountains of staff in and around the vicinity. Saturday afternoon and early evening particularly bad, the need to concentrate on serving the queues of people doesn’t seem to be a priority. Regularly an issue. Replenishing glasses does. Damn shame in a nice pub, let down by sloppy service and too many ‘shift mgrs’ and ‘team leaders’ etc.

It’s Saturday evening again, the queues are building, 6 members of staff in and around the bar and only one serving! This pub seriously needs some bar tenders that serve waiting customers. It’s getting beyond a joke now on Saturday 🥴

DOWNGRADED AGAIN!! GET SOME BAR STAFF EMPLOYED IN THIS PUB!! Worst Wetherspoons for service I’ve ever seen. Absolute joke. Picture taken Monday lunchtime.

You should be ashamed of yourselves at Wetherspoons, this pub is a total disgrace service wise, just getting worse and worse, mountains of staff again and just cannot get served for coffee, half term and I’ve just walked out again 09.40am . Absolute disorganised mayhem.

It's ok, breakfast lukewarm left hanging on the pass. The whole place needs brightening up. Coffee machines need to carry all drinks as one has better selection then the other so you get queues.

I have been a regular customer of JD’s for years. I drink red wine. Today I was served a frothy red wine which looked disgusting. The bar maid said this is what it’s like as it’s draught wine. I had wine after and it was not frothy. I showed her this to prove my point. She said I could of had another drink. But she did not offer this when we first complained. When I pointed this out to her she just walked off and ignored me. Appalling customer service. Couldn’t find out her name but she has a grade one skin head look and glasses. Not impressed at all! I have now found out that her name is Evie! After complaining and tried to get another drink was ignored on at least two occasions! When I reported this to her line manager, I was informed it was HER RIGHT not to have to deal with us! Disgusting lack of customer service.

Today I went to the Perkin Warbeck in Taunton for a big family reunion lunch. However, it was packed and there were no tables big enough for 9 people. A very kind waiter, despite being extremely busy, put 2 tables together for us. It really meant the world to me. Your staff are excellent
