A nice clean cozy pub with excellent serving staff however we ordered a traditional Sunday roast and the quality was awful 2 slices of turkey a few vegetables roast potatoes that couldn't even be cut as they had been overcooked/ kept warm for far too long nice gravy though . The manager made me feel very awkward and embarrassed for telling her and as I didn't say anything earlier wasn't really bothered and could offer no solution. I wasn't asked if the meal was ok earlier. Wont be going back again

Had Sunday dinner. Friendly and welcome staff. Nice atmosphere. Fantastic pricing. Sunday roast was nice and although the vegetables were a let down because they were cooked from frozen and not crispy, due to the price, it was worth it.

Visited yesterday. I went up to the bar to order as I have an allergy. When I asked for a gluten free meal the member of staff rolled his eyes at me and told me it’ll take ages and to give him a few minutes. He then proceeded to pull out an IPad and tell me to wait a couple minutes. The iPad was then handed to me saying I could only order 1 meal. When I asked if I could double check he started serving other people in front of me. While serving someone else he asked if they had any allergies and when they said no he say “so you’re normal then”
It took about 20 minutes for me to order 1 meal. After eating the meal I ordered a drink using the app. When the member of staff brought the wrong drink over, it was slammed on the table. I went over the bar to ask for the correct drink the member of staff was incredibly rude so I returned with the incorrect drink.

Table booked for 8:30pm via online booking system for dinner and drinks with friends to celebrate a birthday and half term (all teachers). Upon arrival, we were made to feel an inconvenience and told ‘the kitchen closes at 9 so you need to hurry up and order’. This was the manager, I presume. The lady behind the bar rolled her eyes when we said that we were ordering separately and again retorted to my friend( the last to order) whether we knew that the kitchen closed at 9 when we’d booked. The food, on the whole, was tasty however two friends who ordered katsu curry had barely any sauce. On the whole, due to very poor customer service, we will never return and will advise others who we know not to visit either. Becky Southall.

The place itself is nice and the staff were lovely. Starter and pudding were nice, but main was awful. Ordered two of the duo of roast mains off the fixed price menu, which itself would be good value. Turkey was dry but tasked okay. Beef was extremely pink with some raw bits and inedable. Also missing the pigs in blankets and stufging balls. Almost asked for the difference between the two and three course to be refunded and walked out. Shame as it was a nice atmosphere but wouldn't have a roast there again.

When entering the Dog and Gun you could see that it was a fairly quiet local pub with few customers in. The Pub overall had a nice atmosphere and a very cosy vibe. It had a lovely country feel to it with an open fireplace. We had to order ourselves at the bar and put the cutlery out which was disappointing given that we would have expected table service in similar venues of the same chain. The lighting was also good inside. There was a little bit of a draft coming in from the entrance due to the proximity of the table near it but it was relatively comfortable.

Food and drinks were delivered quickly after we ordered. The mains we ordered were lackluster in terms of our expectations. The Classic Chicken Burger topped with BBQ pulled pork came out cold. After raising this with a member of staff she said she would 'check this for me' as though I was lying about the temperature of my meal. After disappearing into the kitchen for 5 minutes she then reappeared to agree that the dinner was in fact cold. She then proceeded to ask if I would like the meal reheated or a fresh one cooked! I believe that no restaurant should EVER ask if you would like something reheated and should always be cooked fresh.

The Belgian Chocolate Brownie Dessert left a lot to be desired as it was too thick and didn't actually taste all that chocolatey. It was also quite rich and very gooey. The Caramel Apple Crumble Pie was satisfactory. The custard had some congealed skin on the surface which left a inconsistency with the overall dish. The filling and the pastry itself was tasteful and filling.
Using the facilities we did notice that there was a door in the women's toilet held open by beer mats which was inventive as it was situated close to the driers. The service in the pub was friendly but had started to get slower towards the end of the night which given the level of trade in the pub was not a good sign. One of the cubicles did not lock and the other had danger tape on it.

Overall, we would be hesitant to return as we found it to be average overall. A 5/10.

We have used this pub as a local most weekends with no issue, for the best part of a year and even get on with the staff. Food isn't great, but we have enjoyed the atmosphere.

One evening the owner or manager decided to throw around his weight, and make complaints regarding some adult language although none of the other pub goers were concerned. He decided that he had a problem with it and threatened to remove us from the premises, although this is exactly what you would expect from an evening in a pub with adults drinking.

We have decided to take our custom elsewhere rather than feel unwelcome and thank this man for this.
