Fine ales from Brakespear and lovely food (we had wood fired pizza). There's a great outdoor seating area close to the pub as well as a garden seating area. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Top marks!

Stumbled across this beautiful pub on a sunny Sunday lunchtime in the heat of summer, thinking 'there's no way we'll get a table', but there was plenty of space in the sunny garden, and the burgers (adult and kids versions) were both fantastic. Molly the dog was also super-friendly! Highly recommended - we will be going back again some time soon.

Lovely setting, we were seated in the covered garden which has been beautifully decorated and we all enjoyed our lunchtime visit! Food was delicious as it is each time.

Amazing food. Great service however one of the waiting staff seemed miserable around us but seemed fine with others so that put me off from going back a bit.

Proper Job on draught 😉🍺 very rare to see the Cornish top ale around these neck of the woods. Haven’t tried any food (bike ride pause) but the smells coming from the kitchen were simply amazing. Oh, and apparently the owner rides bike too. Kudos to you 💪👏

Strolled in with my girlfriend on a September Saturday, mid-walk on a brief break in the Cotswolds. Lovely warm and friendly welcome from the Barman/landlord and girl serving (sorry we didn't catch names!), especially from pub dog Molly.

Good to see a freehouse still, with a couple of good hand pump ales on (I had the Lamb bitter) along with a decent selection of gas taps. Decor and feel manages to balance the seemingly popular 'shabby chic'/pseudo-old world country style with mixed/interesting used furniture, and proper (for me!) 'classic pub' feel. I'm not a big fan of pubs going too gastro/faux-country to cater for more town/city and new(ish) country types, but then I was brought up on 'proper' rural/middle of nowhere pubs with mud on the floors, no heating and gents loos at least 3 fields away, so the Lamb does well to move with the times and still keep me happy....😉

Food delicious and reasonable prices despite current difficult financial times for pubs (I'm always willing to spend more though as otherwise how are we going to have pubs in the future? It's a tough business and people, including bar and waiting staff, have to make a living). Sat in the super dog friendly multi-level garden, and some folks just there for a couple of drinks, so good to see a mix of drinkers and eaters welcome. I had the 'cracked pork' burger which was super tasty - pork was sort of crispy peking duck style, my partner a generous Caesar salad with excellent anchovies.

All in, a cracking independent old pub in a beautiful village, giving a warm and friendly welcome to passing trade as much as locals, catering for walkers and dogs in an attractively set up pub serving proper beer and really good food.

If anything could be improved, a couple of lighter, simple items like a traditional Ploughman's or a couple of Sandwiches on the lunch menu I'm sure would go down a storm, especially for walkers/cyclists, but all in great stuff - long may they be successful!

This was our first experience with The Lamb in many years. It really is hard to find fault, not that I'm looking for a fault, but for a country pub it delivers in most respects.
The service is exemplary, the team understood that we were arriving late in terms of kitchen opening times, but made sure that we were settled and gave us time to relax and choose. The service overall was top quality: friendly, polite and respectful. Well done
The food was also superb. A wide choice and the selection was great. The ONLY gripe was that the sashimi was a bit thin on the ground for the price paid, 4 or 5 slices of salmon for £9 was steep, but that said it was delicious and the wasabi was knock out!
The koftas were stunning and all other dishes were great.

Top marks all round to the team at the Lamb. Well done, great atmosphere, busy and thriving.
You can understand why.
Go and visit for yourselves
