Love our local village pub and I’m sure many of us miss you! It’s not just a pub to many when in a village, it’s has a different social impact that I’m sure has affected many.
A welcoming place for the single old chap that may live on his own and pops by to have a little chat and a pint and maybe his dog. Many people pop in on their own as always feel welcome. I Warm and friendly atmosphere and lovely and cosy when the fire is burning.
The tier system that has no sense to me , having to eat and not just have a pint for that sweet old man is not getting him out the house to socialise with the only people he might see. It’s such a shame that a village pub has been scrutinised and classed the same as city bustling bar with young people partying.
From what I see and all places I’ve been to from bars to restaurant’s to hairdressers etc they have all been safe with the right measures taken into place throughout this Covid situation. It baffles me that a village pub is in their 3 yet a city pub in London in tier 2!!!!!! Unbelievable !!!!!!
Hope to return soon 🍺🍷🐶🐶👍🙏🏻

Haven't been here for years, however still a lovely pub, with extensive outdoor seating and function room. Loads of ales and spirits. Sat outside in the 🌞 enjoying a pint of Theakstones. Nice

Awful service. Four of us went here for lunch today. We ordered our meals at the same time but only two came out. Me and my husband sat waiting ages for ours. We’d ordered a salad and steak pie. My husband went to complain and was told salads take longer to prepare!! The couple with us had finished their meals and we were just about ready to ask for our money back when it came. It wasn’t worth waiting for either!

Had a gathering here for after we buried my parents ashes. They kindly set a room aside and made sure we all got served at the little bit of the bar that finished in the room we were in. Really helpful and pleasant. Thank you so, so much, it was perfect.

Like to pop in from time to time either with or without the dog, after a walk and always found it to be a friendly, welcoming place but, after calling in on Wednesday with a friend for beers and food, i feel the need to enquire if it's been taken over recently as i was so disappointed with the greeting of the staff. Firstly, the girl serving behind the bar seemed like her whole life was collapsing and had no charisma at all. Secondly, the young girl that delivered our food and took away the dirty plates, couldn't produce a smile or even speak. The least I'd expect is for her to enquire if the food was all alright, but got nothing. Everything seemed like too much trouble for the staff, maybe they don't like their jobs and didn't want to be there!! Very disappointed indeed.

Large outside area, reasonable prices, real chips! Very busy at the small bar Saturday lunchtime, but only to be expected on a sunny day. Christmas menu now available with straightforward 2 or 3 course options.
