A huge courtyard if you want alfresco
Plenty of room inside upstairs and downstairs
Although there's a lot of people, it's very easy to get served. You order the food and pay at the same time
Starters I had baked smoked haddock and cheese fish cake followed by pork roast and topped off with sticky toffee rum sponge absolutely delicious complements to the chef
The staff are very friendly and very helpful
Highly recommend this establishment
Good selection of real ales and craft beer. Nice to see Tiny Rebel and Jaipur both on tap.
Staff were all very friendly too.
Inside they have sky sports but it never feels too roudy or uninviting.
Great not so hidden gem!!
We ordered drinks and food that was presented nicely, the platter that we order was a good size for 2 people or even three..
The pub is in the middle of the city centre with a large courtyard seating partly covered with heaters when it gets colder, inside also has a good atmosphere. Ideal if you are a smoker to sit outside.
Based on a recommendation, we booked at table for food on Boxing Day. We actually ended up stumbling across the Lamb Inn on Christmas Eve. Hidden away from the high street, you walk down a cobbled path which opens up to a large outdoor seating area before entering a well presented pub/restaurant. The atmosphere on both occasions was brilliant and the clientele were friendly and festive. It felt like a place that was popular with a slightly older crowd. The Lamb Inn is also dog friendly and our Labrador was made to feel very welcome by everyone.
The food was tasty on both occasions although we were a little disappointed that the steak (along with other dishes) were sold out on Boxing Day. We didn't realise that they were only serving food up to 5 o clock.
The bar got quite busy at various points but it never seemed to take too long to be served. All of the drinks were of a good quality.
A place well worth a visit!
The menu is massive and our group of 6 had a great spread of all the options. I had the three cheese and mushroom burger which was very good. The fish and chips was huge and could tell was fresh fish.
Service was super fast and always came out with a smile, despite having to dodge the rain!! We all order separately too, so was a nice touch to have it all come out together.
The inside is a classic pub, the outdoor courtyard as mentioned is really cool and also HEATED (life savour!)
Price wise, it’s very standard gastro pub pricing but with the quality of food it’s a very good deal!
Definitely recommend the lamb if your visiting or eating out on Norwich.
