A lovely meal - we both had a dish from the day’s specials - pork stuffed with haggis wrapped in bacon, dauphinois potatoes, greens & creamy cider sauce. Excellent!
But don’t arrive hungry, it was about an hour after ordering before we were served. Even so the service was also excellent. A real shame we are passing through.

Very good main course, starter was a bit average. Barman (sam) could do with some happy pills, ordered a round of drinks 2 of which we never got. Wouldn't hurry back.

The Sally is a lovely restaurant and B&B situated in a quiet village not far from the M6. The decor is modern and tasteful and the food outstanding. We found this restaurant while staying in Cumbria and we were blown away. The food and service was fantastic. So much so that we have subsequently visited twice when traveling along the M6. The last couple of times we have made a point of dropping in on a Sunday as the roast is one of the best I have ever had outside of our own home. The beef is cooked to perfection, the mash buttery and beautiful, the gravy sticky and filled with enough nostalgia to take you back to childhood. The fussy will be glad to know the veg comes on the side, but is just as spectacular as anything on the plate. For those wanting something else on a Sunday there is a varied set menu from which you can choose between one and three courses, all of which are fantastic value.
Although we have not stayed here, if the B&B is anything like the restaurant you would be in for a treat. I know we'll definitely be back.

Great Cumbrian gem in the lovely Village of Irthington near Carlisle. I stayed in the Lanercost room which was beautiful decorated, well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The welcome when booking was very friendly and helpful and upon arrival I was made to feel welcome. The restaurant and food looked amazing (I had already eaten but I will certainly return for lunch or an evening meal, or both!) After a good night's sleep I went downstairs for breakfast, with a small buffet of quality ingredients to help yourself to and the option of a cooked breakfast. I had a full English, Cumbrian which was cooked to order and made from quality ingredients that tasted fab, washed down with fresh coffee. The Sally is a lovely place to be, in the middle of a small village in the countryside yet only a few mins from the M6 and A69. and great value for an exceptional experience. Thank you Team Sally. Highly recommended

One of the best places to stay and eat. Slightly off the Hadrian's wall path but well worth it. Amazing staff and superb food.

A wonderful place, spacious with a nice garden on the rear which is perfect for a family with young children like us. Food is delicious, especially the duo of duck and all the desserts are super indulgent. Staff is kind and they have paper sheets for children to colour too! They sell some local products, we tried the green chilli jam which is marvellous. I would visit again, if i were one more time in the area.

Very friendly staff. Amazing food. Comfy cosy rooms with awesome showers. Fresh milk for coffee in the room fridge and an honesty bar on the landing. Highly recommend a stay here. Thank you.

Little gem. Not been before, but will be back. Super Sunday lunch, service was great, and after desert dishes were cleared away we were left with, " relax and take your time- enjoy your drinks." Thank you x
