A lovely welcome, clear instructions about using the app or ordering at the bar. We had 2 small carverys and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was good. Will be back

Great accomadation, very attentive staff, I Will definitely return.
Although I was there for work I felt like I was on holiday.

Nice place but, half of the menu was not available! Then we were charge £6.75 for two children's puddings which were £1.50 each!

We won't ever be coming back here and judging by the lack of customers on a Saturday night, most locals feel the same way. We picked a quiet table away from music and other customers and away from having giant TV screens or flashing gaming machines in view because one of our party has additional needs on the autism spectrum. We were forcibly moved by the "manager" because they wanted to keep the section clear despite the fact that it made absolutely no difference whatsoever to the staff. They would bring food to a table 30cm away but not to ours apparently. The table we were forced to move to was quiet to be fair, but not as quiet or suitable for our needs as the one we chose and within sight of two giant screens and gaming machines with flashing lights. It was quite simply inexcusable to treat us this way and the "manager" is clearly more interested in pushing people around than in customer service. The pub itself was uncomfortably cold and when it arrived the food was barely warm. We sent it back and it was replaced quickly with hot food which was okay but nothing special. The tiled area of floor in front of the bar was greasy and slippy. How long before someone has an accident? Needs a good clean with detergent. I suspect this venue will close down soon. Seems as though people have voted with their feet - we originally tried the Beefeater and it was crammed solid. I'm so not surprised and I don't think it will be missed. Perhaps Marston's need to train their staff in customer service.

Ordered online via the qr code. Drinks came quickly, as did our scampi and chips- delicious and well cooked. Staff always polite and helpful.

Friendly, Approachable and Helpful Staff.
As we approached the bar to check in, I was advised on where to go, what the process would be and what times things would be closing or stopping due to it being Christmas eve.
This time we didn't try the breakfast but we will definitely be returning to the Marston Hotel and Sessile Oak to try the food and enjoy the accommodation again.

Lovely place to sleep, felt very refreshed after out nights stay - We paid for the late check out which was £20 extra on top of the original booking price which allowed us to leave at 12:00pm check out time.

Criticism - The only thing we would recommend is that the Room Service menu have some form of barcode or direct link which allows us to follow the directions on how to order room service, rather than leaving the room to re-enter the bar.

Over all - 9/10 Accomodation, 9/10 Staff & Customer Service

The santa was amazing with the kids.

And breakfast was good dor such a busy event.

But the tea sucks change to tetleys.

This was a family meal at the managers expense due to several bad experiences, i booked on line in plenty of time and completed the box for any special requests, stating the payment was to be met by the manager. None of this was read I was asked to provide evidence of this Exactly as i have pointed out I did not want to be made to feel this was my fault. Again 3 children all wanted chicken nougats N/A I made it very clear when asked what the previous problems were that i did not wish to go over everything again, however a big issue was we all ate at different times due to ordering different meals partly as some were not available AGAIN, I was reassured that was something that shouldn't have happened in the past and will defiantly not happen tonight. How wrong that statement was!!!!! Not all deserts available, All in all Again a poor night which was a special evening for us, We were made to feel as though we were the problem in being asked to provide evidence. Notes are clearly not read when booking online? also children not being able to have what food they wanted. I will never step foot into this restaurant ever again, or will any of my family.
