Looking for a dog friendly pub while out for a drive today, came across The Lamb and Flag, absolutely fantastic, the staff were amazing very helpful extremely polite, food was beautiful, I had Scampi and chips , fantastic home cooked chips and plenty of them, my husband had steak and ale pie cooked to perfection, lovely big chunks of meat beautiful, we where even given bowl of water for our Bella, and she was allowed to sit between us, will definitely be returning

Can't say enough of this lovely pub. Fantastic good, wonderful, high quality food at a more than reasonable price. I had the standard carvery which left me stuffed! The staff were brilliant, friendly and efficient! To summarise, check out this traditionally English resteraunt for an amazing experience. I WILL be back!

This is a no frills hotel which offers excellent value for money and it's clearly the best the area has to offer. We stayed here for 2 nights; the room was large and clean, but basic. We were welcomed warmly and the staff were attentive (the little fluffy pub dog in particular is lovely). The breakfast was well cooked and generous. The food in the restaurant is good value, note though that they don't serve Sunday evenings. If in the area, we would stay again

Stopped off at The Lamb & Flag for a late lunch. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, probably the best pub lunch I've ever had. The mixed grill was cooked to perfection,, quality meat and plenty of it. The chips were hand cut, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, well seasoned and very tasty! Wish we lived closer to the lamb and flag, but to be honest its worth the drive for such a lovely meal and atmosphere.

Lovely little pub, the team go above and beyond to help, the room cleaned during the day which was a nice touch. We had dinner here twice and breakfast, both lovely!

I'd definitely stay again!

We stayed one night at the Lamb and Flag on our trip in South Wales. The rooms are spacious, clean, warm and have everything you need. We had a shower and a bath in our room.

The pub had live entertainment on during the evening but don’t let this worry you as it does not run into the early hour, so you still get a quiet night sleep. The breakfast was DELICIOUS with your choice of eggs etc.

The best part about our stay - the staff. The staff are welcoming, chatty and couldn’t do more for you. The sweetest staff for sure!

*4.5*
Only a couple of recommendations hence the *4.5* - a lot of food had run out on the evening unfortunately (there was a function on downstairs so it was entirely just bad timing for us), we only had one set of towels but it was too late to ask when we’d realised, thicker curtains and a bigger tele. Tiny little things though and didn’t change our positive opinions of the Lamb and Flag.

All in all a lovely stay and a BARGAIN for £70 a night!! We’ll definitely be back again. Thank you for a great stay Lamb and Flag!

The food was delicious. The peas were so tasty, the chips are proper homemade and my son said the chicken was the nicest he had ever tasted.
