Faultless. Fantastic service from the drinks at the bar to the breakfast in the morning.

Welcome: Mark was there to greet, introduced all the staff by name and on hand to make recommendations on which wine and how large the portions were on the menu to help make the best/most suitable meal to taste.

Wine: brilliant selection at appropriate prices.

Dinner: delicious, highly recommend the goats cheese starter and the beef carpaccio. Service was wonderful, the perfect combination of helpful and present, but not too much - and certainly did not do the overkill “how is your meal” after one bite. The chef did join the room at the end of service to check everything was okay which was greeted with applause.

Room: was spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Slept remarkably well and not even aware of the road or rain outside.

Breakfast: we had to leave early in the morning so the kitchen and staff opened early for us (their suggestion). They’d even given us breakfast menus the night before and taken orders so nothing was going to delay us.

I very much look forward to my next stay there!

Sat out on their beautiful terrace for early dinner menu. 3 course options for £25. Excellent VFM and a good choice. Worth a visit. Location is deceptive. It is larger than it looks from the village road. Rooms look lovely.

Mark and the team were great! Food was fantastic and the portions were filling.

Rooms were comfortable and clean, would thoroughly recommend both eating and staying there. Can’t wait to come and visit again.

A lovely country inn in a superb location. The staff were friendly and kind. Our bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower as well as an indulgent roll-top bath. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu, all of which was very tasty. We also dined in the bar area on a couple of evenings eating from the early saver menu which was good value, with nice sized portions and just as tasty as breakfast. We would certainly stay here again and have already recommended it to family and friends.

The Fox & Hounds is a wonderful place to stay in a very pretty village. The staff are helpful and friendly, the room small but well appointed and comfortable. We didn't try the A La Carte menu, but the early meal (5pm - 6.30pm) offered 3 choices of starter, main and dessert, was very good and excellent value. We will return, this time with our walking boots

What a wonderful place. Was a little shocked at the dinner menu, just had a tiny bowl of chips and that cost a fiver ... I guess it was out of our league !😂 Was there for the bed and breakfast and that was amazing. Everything was there for a European breakfast and I mean everything and then a hot meal to boot. Loved it ... was also a garden outside the room window and patio area. Thanks for a lovely stay ♥️

Great Sunday lunch, with family & friends 27/11/22, the food was excellent prepared with great skill, superb service by friendly professional staff, in great surroundings, tables of generous proportions, and well spaced! Priced very reasonably, we have paid more for a lower quality in other places. What more could you want!

Booked in last minute for Sunday lunch and the food was superb, service was excellent and you can tell the staff really care about your experience with them. Highly recommend trying if you are in the area or visiting the region. 👍👍👍👍
