This pub has a real history within Ilkeston, if you look back you will find out all sorts about its history. The landlord has changed a few times over the last 15 years or so, that said they do a great Sunday lunch here and nice food.

You can hold functions here and they do have a play area round back for kids (although it is run down) they have a reasonable sized car park and disabled access.

Service has always been good, prices average, over the years I have been many times for various reasons.

Lovely pub with good beers and food at reasonable prices. Carpark at the back. There are two parts to the pub, the eating side and the bar area for bar games. There are music nights which are advertised outside. Staff are really friendly and make the place welcoming. Sunday lunches are brilliant

Nice traditional boozer. Not a great range of ales, but a comfortable atmosphere. Did not go into the dining area, so couldn't comment on food or if family friendly, but for a quiet pint with a couple of mates out of the way, sound.

Visited this restaurant today on a whim, with my service animal.

The restaurant was spotless, a real plus for me and the service was attentive, but not intrusive.
The food was well cooked, but I beleive the portions were a little large, I know it sounds picky, but it was impossible to eat it all and restaurants have to watch the bottom line, and portion control is one way to not go bust.
I would say a little background music, would help the ambiance, as it lacked that. I beleive it is under new ownership, so I wish them well, as fundamentally, they have a nice place. Good luck.

Who said I disliked it?
I may just have hard to meet standards..

Before we start Google seems to have this Pub confused with a Bus or Train Station ... Strange..

You will definitely get drinks and snacks but you will be a long time waiting for a train!

Not really my cup of tea, landlords come and go and the place needs a lot of money spent on it.

Food has been nice previously but couldn't say at the minute.. Poor choice of standard piss beer.
Had an off pint and it was a chore getting it sorted as only Manager knew what he was doing.. He seemed alright ..

Very much a local pub .. Never feel welcome when I go there!

Our sons birthday today, booked a table for 5 adults and 2 children, pre-ordered our meal after arriving and getting our drinks we were seated and eating in 10 minutes, excellent food, excellent service from the new landlord and landlady Matt & Jacquie.
I rate the pub 10 out of 10 and definitely well worth visiting.

The food took nearly an hour to come and there was hardly anyone in the pub, we ordered a chicken wrap and it all came seperate with a tiny naan bred not a wrap, when we complained we was told they ran out, but if they had told us when we ordered we could have ordered something else. Our burgers came with lettuce that was old and slimy brown on some of the edges. There were no waitresses working by the looks of it, as the 2 women that brought and took back our plates were drinking on the bar side and one of them was pissed up. We will never eat here again! On the plus point, the drinks were good and reasonably priced. Maybe they just shouldn't serve food if they cant put in the effort.
