Can't believe I've only just found this beautiful place. Went there for dinner with our 3 year old son. Food was absolutely amazing. The crispy beef starter was the best I've ever tried. Good menu, lovely atmosphere. Staff service was brilliant and always with a smile. Lovely enclosed children's play area which helped me and the misses enjoy our dinner for once. Really good value for the standard of food. We will certainly be going back. Gladly tipped for their efforts. Happy diners for sure

We stayed at the Anchor for 4 nights in August, while attending a family get together in the area. The Anchor looked after us really well, good room, comfortable bed and a nice continental breakfast. On the Sunday we had a large family Sunday lunch for 13 including 5 children, which was excellent. As several attendees have birthdays around now The Anchor laid on special happy birthday chocolate brownie and sauce, a lovely touch! A great stay. Thank you very much.

Came for a drink, looked at the menu & stayed for dinner. The homemade falafel scotch egg, smoky tomato relish (upgraded to a main) and the falafel burger were awesome. Quite the most delicious falafel we have tasted anywhere!
The service was friendly and efficient. Off menu requests welcomed.
We will return.

We called in on the off-chance for Sunday lunch and had a gorgeous meal. We had the roast beef and the pork and it was both beautifully cooked with a generous amount of everything.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful and very welcoming.
We have taken their card and plan to make this a regular occurrence

Found this pub while visiting pur daughter in Somerset. A little gem. Food superb, & such a friendly place. Most importantly doggy friendly.

We booked one of the guest rooms as we were attending a wedding at the golf club near by. We had a lovely welcome by Laura and the team. We didn’t have a main meal in the pub but the choices looked (and smelled) amazing. We did have a couple of drinks and some dirty nachos - and they were good. Our room was spotlessly clean and the continental breakfast in the room was very welcome. If you’re in the area, The Anchor Inn is highly recommended.

Had a bit of a mixed experience at The Anchor Inn. Had booked a table for 2 and was greeted warmly when we arrived. The pub was very cosy which was lovely on a cold night. Me and my partner had several drinks, a main course each and desert all of which was really delicious. The service throughout the meal was also excellent and definitely a 5 star experience at this point.

We were spending the night in the carpark in our motorhome which we understand is allowed having had a very long journey. After returning to our motorhome we had a knock on the door from the person we believe is the landlady who shouted sarcastically at us 'were you going to ask permission then for parking overnight' (without saying hello or introducing herself) then said we had to get out of the van and go into the pub to 'register' so they had our details, although they already had these from our online booking. We felt terrible for not asking permission however we weren't given a chance to explain we simply forgot and the experience totally ruined an otherwise lovely evening and sadly made us feel unwelcome.
