Pretty decent place, the rooms to stay in are lovely, small but with everything you would need for staying in the area. The only thing to be careful of is the way the staff do business. After the bar staff had clocked off they asked if we wanted a cocktail as they were in the process of making some for themselves. We thought this was very friendly however they showed up on our bill when checking out, pretty under handed if you ask me

Thank you so much! We had a brilliant stay. Delicious breakfast and a lovely room. Big thanks to John and Teagen for making us feel so welcome. See you soon.

Family Sunday lunch. First visit for three generations attending.
Service was quite slow in the restaurant. We had difficulty ordering drinks ie what cider/on tap beer was available. Wish we had booked a table in the bar as the atmosphere was much livelier.
Food was nice, roast beef, chicken burger but the childs burger had an onion relish which didn't go down well and would be better on the side.

I stayed Friday night... got there to find only the bathroom light worked.. told a member of staff she said she will take some money off the bill..

Then went for a shower and the shower head didn't work and no hot water also the shower door did not close..
Everything but shower door and lights were fixed...
I had a accident on the Saturday night so I wasn't able to stay for my last night... I had a family member go and take care of things and settle up.. it still cost 240 no money off for the things that went wrong.. I don't want money off for not staying Saturday night as that was my fault ... but it is a lot of money for what you get and what you get is not a lot

Very disappointed, no warm welcome and keep waiting at the bar before knowledged and seen to our table.
Food came out incorrect for one meal, second meal left on the table and by the time the correct meal came to the second meal was barely warm.
Waiting staff not very attentive.
Parking in the street is very difficult.
Overall would definitely not return.

A wonderful Anniversary Sunday lunch...a cool drink to start with followed by an excellent roast beef plus all the trimmings, a beautiful dessert, great service and a lovely view sitting on top of the flowing stream!
PS For me the pre-starter starter, while we decided on our main course, was the absolute dogs doodahs (as they say)...the best sausage roll I've ever had!
It would have been worth the visit just for the sausage roll and the roast beef was absolutely superb!
Get yourself booked in asap...we're going again soon...might see you there! 👍

We went for a Sunday lunch which isn't always a good test. The staff were absolutely brilliant and really helpful. The food was OK but certainly wasn't outstanding. I had roast pork which in itself was fine but the vegetables were lacklustre and the Yorkshire pudding really wasn't good. I think the burgers were probably a better option and the venison one in particular would have been a better choice.
It was busy so is obviously popular.

The best Wellington I have ever had!! The food was absolutely sublime, my partner took me for my birthday and I am very particular about where we go for dinner as I am an ex chef and she suprised me with this gem of a restaurant, the service was amazing and the food was even better! The food looked as good as it tasted and the portion sizes! I was worried that I would leave hungry but no I left with a takeaway bag! Would 100% recommend we will be back a million percent
