Started off with a free trial session, where they get an idea of your level of ability and show you around the box (which is a great setup with loads of space and equipment). Got good vibes straight away so signed up to a fundamentals class (about 3 hours) where they teach you correct form for the most common exercises. After the fundamentals class I signed up for a 3 sessions per week membership, which is decent value considering you're more or less getting personal training for the price.
The coaches are all absolutely brilliant - they really know their stuff inside-out and are obviously very passionate about what they do. They've got a keen eye for detail, and always give pointers on how to improve, whilst also giving plenty encouragement when the workouts get a bit gruelling (which is usually the case). Great community too, with occasional special events like summer barbecues or in-house competitions.
I've had normal gym memberships in the past but always found that a bit boring and repetitive. The programming at CFLDN has so much variety and is structured in cycles to build specific movements /skills/strength. I've been going about 3 for the last 6 months times a week and honestly don't think there's been a single session I haven't enjoyed.
They offer a variety of classes, such as Crossfit, Metcon, Olympic Weighlifting, and Powerlifting. The classes are well-structured with a good amount of stretching, wods, and skill development (which was the main reason why I switched from my previous crossfit box to CFLDN). You can really tell that they put a lot of effort into the programming and skill development (which I believe is extremely important in CF)
The community as well as the coaches are extremely nice, supportive, and welcoming to new members. It is also important to add that the coaches are really passionate and knowledgeable.
1. Diversity of classes: They offer Metcon classes (ones that leave you needing another shirt by the end of the sessions), CF Classes, Olympic Weightlifting (never tried them before as I was scared, but got introduced to them and now I am loving it) and Powerlifting.
2. Programming: Started CF a couple of months before moving to London. So it was my first time following a program and I have to say that CF London Head Coach does a very good job. In the last year following the program I have become a better athlete, week on week I have been getting stronger and better at the CF movements and I have been enjoying pushing myself every workout.
3. Coaches: Besides all the coaches being very knowledgeable they are very good coaches. All of the coaches are very friendly, talkative and inclusive making all of the current members and new members feel welcomed and taken care of.
4. Space: CFLondon is under a railway track and has an underground vibe that I love. It has several arches that make space for simultaneous classes and also Arches equipped for Olympic lifting, gymnastics and open gym
5. Community: CF is known for the community it creates and also being Spanish I am used to a very close and friendly atmosphere back home. Again CFLondon did not disappoint in this area. There are athletes of all levels, ages, gender, nationalities... you will feel integrated and part of the CFLondon community no matter where you come from and what you are looking for.
I cannot recommend enough CFLondon as an outsider who moved to London. London is a stressful and intense city but I can always rely on CFLondon to help me de-stress and find peace.
