The Dub

When we visited, The Dub Pub had been open for a week. Unfortunately for the owner, he got the premises just as the lockdown began, so it hasn't been the best of starts - no customers and reduced deliveries. Despite that, it is clear that he has been working hard to reach his vision for the place.
We ordered a chicken burger, beef burger and boneless wings. It was delicious. I loved the chips and my partner loved the sauce for the chicken wings (whiskey sauce). If you have any allergies, you'll be happy to know that the back of the menu has a clear chart of what you can eat and what to avoid. Though the menu is limited at the moment, the owner has plans to expand on this and has been working on his menu for two years.
The things to be aware of at the time of writing is that the toilets need a face lift, not enough shading in the garden, and the drinks are limited. All things that the owner is working on.
I look forward to my next visit to Henley and will be going straight to this diner to see what the owner has done to the place.

Couldn't ask for more from these guys. Delicious 'American style' burgers, as good as I've ever eaten anywhere. Incredible chips and a really nice coleslaw. A very organised collection service where you're given a time to collect and the order really is ready for you at that time. Really doing a service to Henley because as far as I know, this style and quality isn't available elsewhere in the town.

My son took the family for food, he chose the DUB . The food was very good, with a cool ambiance very friendly staff. Food was on the table within 20 minutes. Wonderful tasting whiskey sauce that danced on my tung .
Will be going back soon.

We have had takeaway a few times from The Dub and have been very pleased with the food. However our most recent visit as dine-in guests was very disappointing. Service was poor, our order was definitely forgotten as a number of tables came in after us and received their food before we did. I had to ask a number of times when our food would arrive. When the food did arrive I questioned why our food took a lot longer and instead of offering any word of an apology she just made up some excuses about all the orders coming at once. Again when paying not any attempt of an apology as I was clearly annoyed about the situation. It's a big shame the service can't be on par with the standard of food.

Excellent chicken burger, bacon & cheese hot dog & burger! Chips were awesome as well. Perfect combination between chip shop chips and skin on fries. Service was excellent too.
Can't wait to come back!

What happened?!
We were so excited about this restaurant opening and over lockdown we got the most incredible takeaway from the dub.. however, ever since they’ve opened their doors for a dine experience, it’s turned from a place my girlfriends and I were recommending to somewhere we will never go again.
As Henley residents, we were excited for a new restaurant to come into town but the customer service is absolutely shocking! Not only on one occasion did our waitress cough and wipe her sweat off her forehead close to us (without wearing PPE), but after booking a table for six via Instagram (because they don’t have an online booking system), we were told less than 12 hours later that we didn’t have a booking and they made a mistake. After explaining as a group of six, we had made specific plans to meet in henley for this meal, the manager kept saying ‘I can’t fix it, I can’t do anything about it’. Absolutely mortified by the customer service and will not be visiting again and this isn’t the first time I’ve heard people talk about the shocking service either!

The only reason I’ve given this place a two stars is because the burgers are fab!

One of the best gluten free burgers I’ve had.
A bit tricky to get hold of and opening times were slightly altered than to what they say online, however the gluten free beef burger, chicken burger and chips takeaway were all amazing!
A really friendly team who were willing to adapt and accommodate our intolerances 😁.
Will definitely return soon to try more of the menu!

I would have expected the food at the Dub to be really outstanding given their location and the great reviews they have so far. Having tried their takeaway burger and chips, I was extremely underwhelmed... I could have cooked a similar burger myself for far less! Also it’s so difficult to actually find a phone number to ring to place orders, and the website is out of date so Instagram is the only place to find updated information. I admire them for setting up a business in the midst of a pandemic, but they really need to try harder!
