TGI Fridays - Cardiff Newport Road

Food is always great here and never had bad service. Staff are always smiling which can be tough to do some times. Well spaced out with the new social distancing measures in place and everything is spotless. It’s not the cheapest place but your not fed cheap food so you get what you pay for. If you want cheap go have a microwaved mixed grill in spoons 😀

Absolutely terrible, both staff and food. Judging by recent reviews it seems this is to be expected.
Sesame chicken - virtually no sesame, no dip, thrown on the plate with some pathetic salad. £8.50 for about 5 tiny pieces of chicken

Staff - terrible, all unhelpful and badly trained. Impossible to get their attention and no apologies for the below.

Cheese steak sandwich - virtually no steak in it, mentioned this to the waitress who suggested it could be re made... waited 20 minutes whilst having to get up and find staff to ask where it was as girlfriend finished her meal. Even when asking where it was staff would "go find out" and never return

Awful experience.

Visited today 27/09/22 at approximately 7pm, the wait was excessive no greeter at the front door or inside. Staff were very thin on the floor, two waitresses saw us waiting. After 10minutes nobody came I had to physically walk to the rear desk near the kitchen to request a greeter to get us seated but all spare tables had not been cleaned (multiple tables dirty). Finally a greeter came after a long wait with no warm welcome mentioned she would clean a table. We noticed cutlery which was clean left on the dirty leather seat where customers sit uncovered as the table was cleaned the greeter then placed the cutlery and napkins from the dirty seat onto the clean table. I was personally shocked as placing clean cutlery for customers to use onto a clean table from a dirty seat is very unhygienic we left the restaurant and called the restaurant to let them know about this we will not be visiting again. (This is visible from the CCTV footage from this evening).

Staff need training in hygiene and customer service!

Lovely quick service, great food and friendly staff.
Our waiter (Ieuan) was so good with the children, really making them feel part of the experience.
He was very attentive and has a fantastic memory, getting our full order correct without writing anything down.
Overall, a lovely experience.

Very good, staff very friendly. Gentleman looking after us was superb. Food nice and price wasnt as bad as I feared. Definitely go again. Parking isn't best when shops are busy tho

Really friendly place for an evening out. There is a wide selection of American style dishes and a great drinks menu too. The staff are always really helpful and friendly here. Definitely somewhere to bring someone on their birthday if you want them to get embarrassed having a birthday song sang to them 🤣👌

The food was pretty good but I feel like both the food and drinks menu could do with more details. It may have been beneficial for the food I ordered to have been labelled in some way as rather spicy and the drink I ordered has no mention of a fizzy component to it. If these had been made clearer I would have made an alternative choice and most likely enjoyed my meal more.
The ribs that my husband had were amazing as always and the corn dogs my daughter had were lovely too.

Slow service and as you can see, not great with the free refills. Had the Cobb salad amongst other dishes, yuk, pureed avocado not the sliced as in the menu description. Chicken was diced bordering on minced as opposed to sliced ribbons as menu description, and what happened to maple bacon slices, no blue cheese dressing as requested, not exactly a chefs salad extravaganza? Pretty disappointing experience to be fair, needs to do better.
