Solent Gearboxes

This company has made an excellent job of rebuilding my BMW M3 V8 differential after suffering from bearing wear. I was recommended to them by Iridium BMW specialist who have serviced and repaired my last 2 BMW's and i trust them.
It's good that independent garages and repairers like these companies exist as if I'd had to take the car to the main dealership they would have just replaced the complete diff at much greater cost.

Saved my car when the rear diff let go and other garages weren't willing to help. Reconditioned a secondhand part that I supplied. They're not short of work but work the wait.

Pete and Will at Solent Gearboxes were recommended to me by my local mechanic and they did a fantastic job of fixing my Toyota Hiace camper. The rear diff was in need of replacement or extensive repairs - instead of paying a huge labour cost to do these, Will advised me on purchasing a second hand one from a breaker yard. I bought the diff and these guys fitted it very quickly. My camper then ran perfectly for a trip around the UK. Thanks, brilliant service throughout. 👍🏼

Usually using a main dealer, I must confess to being slightly put off by the trading estate that the garage is situated on. Don't be. It is clear from the off Will knows his stuff, and inspires confidence immediately. The rear diff on my BMW Z4 was overhauled and now sounds perfect (silent) on my journey home. Good job. Well done. Recommended.

my friend had a rear Dif problem on his b class Mercedes 4matic and went to solent gearbox. He met Will who took his Dif apart and found the bearings were damaged. Will replaced the bearings and the car is now running smoothly again. He can't thank Will enough for his high quality work and would recommend solent gearbox. It was a first class service.

I have no idea about my experience. I sent them an email about my Peugeot boxer gearbox. And didn't get a reply. So from that point of view it was rubbish

Had my campervan gearbox rebuilt and from the first they filled me with confidence. They gave a good idea of what to expect and how long it would take, they didn't over promise and managed my expectations perfectly. My van now has a clutch and gearbox that's like new and has a new lease of life. Excellent job, well done.

Excellent. Brought my Audi A4 rear diff here on the basis of good reviews. Pete was helpful on the phone. On the basis of that conversation I took the diff cover off to check the ring and pinion, which was in good condition, which meant it was bearings that had gone. Took it in and he changed bearings in a week for a very fair price. Diff has been excellent after a couple of thousand miles. Car feels awesome again. Thank you. Would recommend.
