Halls Patisserie

Friendly staff. Plenty of delicious cakes lovely bread and great selection of food to eat in or take away. Great place to stop for a coffee. Jenny Hall is so welcoming. Parking in front and easy access. The best patisserie in the area.

My family and I enjoy the food from this bakers. But on our visit today I was very concerned at the number of people in the shop at one time some without face coverings when the notice on the door clearly states only two customers allowed in at any one time and the staff not wearing masks or visors when preparing rolls , handling bread, cakes etc. Then handling money. Would it not be better if one member of staff handled the money.

UPDATE 10.10.2020 I Visited the bakers today and this time I was very pleased to see customers queuing, wearing masks and social distancing . The young staff working today were all wearing face coverings and using the hand sanitiser between customers they were doing a great job great to see the improvements after my previous visit. I will now give 5 stars.

Very good looking place, lovely staff, good display of produce, good selection (maybe a little too many items for their own good ) we tried apple doughnut, jam doughnut and a filled scone… while the dough was good , unfortunately the fillings were disappointing. Hopefully it will be improved.

Got to be one of the best bakerys around the area. Great food. Helpful staff . Plenty of filling in your roll or sandwich and not at rip off prices. Visit at least once a week. Marks . Costa and other shops in same square so nice place to visit for the variety. Plenty of parking although sometimes used by angry drivers ? ..maybe they are in rush to get into the bakers ? . Great food. Plenty of cakes . Top of the list !

Absolutely beautiful food. Rolls prepared to order so you know it's fresh. Amazing value. I was passing through and live quite a way from here but it's so good I would definitely go back.

What fabulous sandwiches, pies, cakes and more. Foundvthis by chance as was close by and remembered a work colleague taking me there years ago. Just shows how good they are that they are still thriving. A little gem.

Decided to try out this bakery today, bought a cornish pastie, too much pastry, dodgy meat filling, bland, no flavour!

I was also taken aback to see the owner tossing pastries into display cabinet Not wearing any gloves. The younger staff were wearing gloves and masks though. Well done you!
