Freshly baked treats at J. Ayre bakers @ayresbakers on 114 westmount Road SE9.
.
If you are in the area, do stop by and try out their fresh baked goodies. They have pretty much what you would crave for from hot pies, sausage rolls, made in house sandwiches / rolls to cakes, cookies and biscuits and hot drinks too. They have Christmas cakes and other cakes on display too.
There are usually queue around lunch time so void going at that time and only 3 people at a time going in the shop.
.
I had their sausage roll (pastry nice and flaky and the sausage is just right = taste so good) and chocolate éclair with 2 ice finger buns for dave.
.
Price is reasonable.

MASSIVELY gone down in quality and it’s such a shame. The pizza which was on of the best things has now changed. It is mainly dough with minimal tomato base and hardly any cheese. I also purchased a Viennese biscuit and it was mainly crumbs. It was so crumbly it was like I was eating plain flower on its own. I couldn’t eat it and if the store was open I would’ve went back and asked for my money. After 10 years I doubt I’ll come back to this bakery again. I know companies are cheapening out when it comes to ingredients, but this is a disappointment. Small businesses wonder why they can’t keep up and keep being priced out this is why. You shouldn’t sacrifice quality for profit especially when it’s such a known bakery.

Fantastic bakery with wonderful choice and lovely staff - a mix of ‘mumsy’ and young servers.
Coronation chicken sandwiches made to order and a tasty roast with apple sauce.
Swiss buns, too!

Dangerously good pastries. I could eat them every day and be the size of their shop in no time. It’s a great bakery run by lovely people. If you’re local - use it or lose it!

My favourite bakery in the borough. Their made-to-order gateaus are delicious, as are the various different filling salad baguettes and currant buns. Cream finger doughnuts have a lovely crispness to the outside and are light without being doughy and stodgy. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

So good bakery. In love with the sausage rolls here and the coronation rolls. Staff are very friendly. Hoping to return Christmas time as I have heard about the mince pies being the best. Thanks you Ayres.

My Favourite place ever! Jenny and Sam make our family celebration cakes for all birthday's. Ayre's are the absolute heart of our community! Steve and Pearl have created such a strong vibe and we are so lucky to have a place of this stature at the heart of Eltham!

It's a pleasure to shop at Ayre's. The staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful with the bakery having a family run vibe. I bulk buy their spelt loaves as a much tastier alternative to gluten free bread. These need to be pre-ordered for collection on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
