Consistency in Excellent customer service.

Staff here are always well mannered, professional and supportive, whatever the problem may be they always have a solution.

Staff go the extra mile for customers.

It took 15mins for the agent to pick up the phone, the bot doesn't understand a simple "yes" or "no" command, I had to repeat myself several times (and no, it's not my accent) which took at least another 15mins before I got to the point to wait another 15mins for someone to pick up the phone. The line disconnect in the middle of hard-earned time to connect in the first place and I had to start over again. Waste of time. Poor service. Disgrace. NEVER open an account there. EVER!!!

Horrible service.

1) There is no dedicated queue for premier customers.

2) Waiting time: be expected to stand and queue for the service, and be prepared to spend at least 30 mins even there are only three people were in front of you.

3) Do not try to open any account there, even you have already had an account with HSBC. They do not have the service, but you will not be told about this.

4) What they will do is to take your personal information (such as occupation, income, address, how many properties you own, and etc) in front of all other people in the queue, although there are empty rooms available in the branch to ask these information in a private room. I requested to be seated in one of these rooms, rather than standing in the hall. And was rejected.

5) Another round of long waiting. Once they collected all these personal information, they will tell you to wait for a telephone call. (In our case, we waited two weeks for the telephone call and was only told in the telephone that the information in the system was not updated in their system).

6) This means whatever information they took from you was not properly updated in their system at all. I do not know why this branch exist, if they can not even update my personal information in the system (given we have bring over our passport, bills with address, driving licenses.)

Overall, do not waste your time at this branch. I have been with HSBC for almost 20 years and this is the worst ever service I have ever received.

Update: after 2 months of waiting, I was told by the telephone team that they will need to do a fresh application. This means all the documents submitted before was a total waste. In addition, HSBC will do a new credit check, because the previous credit check is no longer valid! Worst ever experience I have ever received from HSBC, all due to the incapable of the branch.

The only bank that allowed me to open an account with a foreign passport 11 years ago. Now I get many letters from other banks to move to them, but will never do that as HSBC had supported me from the very beginning.
From couple of years I have a premier account and HSBC will be my bank for life.

I went into this HSBC branch and came out with my BANK ACCOUNT CLOSED. Service was good by front line staff but terrible management! I was told I had to give a reason why i want my account,which was inactive for a while reactivated. Its my account and i can do as i like with my money . Got pushed to close my account which i was sad about. Will be making a complaint. Customer service staff was excellent! He went to the back to speak with management and came back with bad news. Appalling management. Only interested in the millionaires!!!

Accompanied my elderly mum there, our first (and last visit!) - the lady in front was very abrasive and curt - no communication and coordination on what happens next (after checking in with the request) - brought my mum to tears. When asked for her name /last name (so I could write a formal complaint), she refused to give her name and covered her name badge. She asked for feedback e.g. What did I do? She completely refused to accept feedback and tried to justify her behaviour. I asked for her name again - she refused and went to bring her manager. The manager was experienced and professional enough to de-scalate the incident but unfortunately, damage is done (as saying goes 'first impression counts'). I would strongly recommend Holborn branch - the team has been great so far - very friendly, welcoming and supportive and just happy to do thier jobs (which they are being paid for) - ask for Dominic - goes above and beyond to help.
