Maybe not the safest placest for Cambridge but still good tho, nothing happened yet and nothing will hopefully.

If I could give it 0 I would! The WORST banking experience I've had in my life in all the 6 countries I have visited! We go there 10 days ago to open an account having all the necessary documents. The person welcoming customers sends us away saying that we have to go through an online system to start the process of opening an account and book an appointment to see someone in the bank, through that same system. We go to their website, start the process but alas, they send us bank to the branch for the whole process as we wanted to open a joined account. I called their customer service and they said that I could just walk in to a branch and ask to see someone, there was no need to book an appointment! After much back and forth, she finally agrees to go into the bank system and book us an appointment! The earliest appointment she had, apparently was for 10 days later!!! I explained to them that we need to open an account because we need to set up our utility payments, otherwise we would be kicked out of our apartment. They did not seem to care AT ALL!!!! So the 10 days pass and it's time for our appointment. We show up a few minutes early. The bank was still closed and we are the very first appointment of the day, so naturally there should not have been any delays. We inform someone that we have an appointment and she had us take a sit for “2 seconds”. 10 minutes later, she passes by and I say “I am sorry but we DID have an appointment for 10am and we have already been waiting for 10 minutes. We do need to get back to work.” Somebody finally comes out to greed us. She takes us to an office and we start the process. I provide her with all my documentation, and mind you we have already checked through my employer, the University of Cambridge that everything was in place. It is after all, the branch that serves the University employees. She immediately informs me that she is not normally at this branch and she needs to check with the manager but she suspects that my documents will not be accepted. I explained to her that this was the third time we were send back, that we really need to get this done, because we need to set up payments for our utilities. I offered her additional documentation, which she did not even bother to look at, but nothing really seems to make a difference! She leaves. We wait for about 5-10 minutes and she, then, shows up to announce that they cannot accept my documents and I need to come back with new/different documents! I am starting to get pretty irritated at this point but decide to remain calm and just be cooperative. SO I said, “Fine, we’ll come back. I’ll get on the road and try to get you everything you want today. When can we come back? She said “let me check the appointment book.” and guess what? She gives me a date 8 days from today! I go nuts. I said “thank you for all your help but we won’t be coming back. We’ll go to a different back that wants our business.” And that’s what I did. I went to a different bank across the street and was done in 45 minutes. No appointment needed, no hassle!

Friendly, helpful staff. Counter, self services available. Sadly this branch is closing later this year (Oct/Nov 2021).
