My experience is not about myself but my son who has asked for Pension information(which HSBC Epsom hold) to be sent to his home address in order for him to receive NHS funding to complete his doctorship this year.
Despite numerous efforts by my son HSBC Epsom seem unable or unwilling to produce these details in time for son's deadline of the 20th February 2017.If son cant receive this information by said deadline he will be forced to lay out a considerable sum from his savings. Savings that were largely provided by my late wife( his Mother) to enable him to have a sporting chance of becoming a doctor. She was a midwife at Epsom Hospital for twenty years before her death four years ago.
I ask simply why is the HSBC Epsom so incompetent and laissez-faire towards a good customer?

They said they would be with us in a couple of minutes, we still weren't served after an hour, so we walked out and went to NatWest to open a Student account. Don't recommend. If I could give it no stars I would. Disgrace.

HSBC are a bit more helpful than Metro and appears to be more Equal opportunity. However the manager could not help me twice and it is frustrating not been able to do it yourself online, the system does not allowed me to enter the new payees l had to go to the branch, to register and a day later and the system does not allow me to enter e g £177.00 is either £17.00 and l have tried all morning, it has been set up to accept 2 digits and 2 decimals and steel can not paid and no one to help, l do not like giving my bank ditails to employees, it should easy and simple for me to do it, in the other banks l have no problems with that, the problem starts when you have to go back to the bank to make the payment, what is then the point of, on line banking??? HSBC can improve on that please!.
It is very inferiorating, frustrating and stressful.
The system should be much easily accessible, there is enough on my account to make the payments. I should not have rely in the staff. The programs should be easyly and friendlly, explained on a video, but there is not anything like it.
Too many chefs spoil the broth.

Phoned the number on the website / instead of Epsom got a guy from Mauritius who was extremely useless. I said I wanted to arrange a meeting to set up myself as a signatory for my golf society (existing account) he was unable to tell me how I contact the bank (I phoned the only number I had online) then he could not provide a branch phone number nor could he tell me if I could book a meeting (as required) at the branch. I might as well have been talking to the cleaner!

Been on the phone for over an hour. Terrible service. I would never recommend this bank to anyone. If zero stars was an option I would select this.

Not happy with HSBC business at all (Epsom and Crawley branch).

Not customer focused, not looking for solutions, but only hiding behind vague criterias to have exuses not to offer certain business services.

To much confusing in their communications. It is easier to simply go to another bank with clear criteria, policies and rules.

Their complaint department is not designed to solve a complaint, but are purely focused on reviewing their own doings and to confirm to their client if they have followed their own not disclosed policies: quote; 'I am satisfied that the application was processed in accordance with our criteria and that the subsequent declined decision was fully in line with HSBC’s current policy. Our criteria are based on various rules and parameters which are constantly updated. I regret due to its sensitive nature, I am unable to provide specific information regarding these criteria'

Needlessly to say, no personal available to speak in person with either.

Poor.. a shame after being for many years a happy customer.

HSBC is absolutely useless. Their staff in the branch are good, but their senior managers at their Head office are Incompetent. Little or no common sense. I have no confidence in HSBC at all.

One of the worst branches of the company that I ever dealt with, starting from the front desk staff to the managers. Impolite, unprofessional, lazy are only few of the adjective that pop up in my mind in order to describe their incompetences. They don't work neither for the interest of the clients, nor for their company's and they continuously give them the wrong guidance.
Never again!!!
