Staff don’t know how to serve the customer. On the phone said it’s 30 minutes wait for walk in and couldn’t book an appointment. Receptionist confirmed the same when walked in. But after 30 minutes wait, manager turned up to convey I need to wait further 1 hour. Was to show only ID proof for a business account. They simply don’t respect others time. They don’t know what they are doing. Happy now not opened the account there.

This was a great bank, but unfortunately it has gone downhill drastically!

They seem to have lots of staff doing nothing, standing around chatting to each other, whilst we all stand in a line!

They have cash machines inside, but unlike Nationwide, you cant pay cheques or cash in, so you have to join the long queue! It's 2021!

The last time I got to the counter to pay in a small amount of cash, the cashier took my card and then started up a conversation with a colleague, she then just walked off, without saying anything and returned 5 minutes later, no apology or explanation.

I then had an issue, (not for the first time) with my card being declined for an online transaction, I then walked to the cashpoint, again declined, another cashpoint and the same! Had to visit my branch to get another card, no apology. This happened a couple of years earlier, when my card was declined in a restaurant. I made a formal complaint and got a response basically saying there are no issues and more or less calling me a liar!

I still have an account, with them, but don't use their card as it's embarrassing if it's declined.

The only good points are late opening and Sunday opening.

Customer service is appalling at this bank. There are 5 or 6 staff not doing anything, another two doing paperwork while I am sitting with my children awaiting some help. They seem to think that they are the ones doing us a favor. Lots of banks to choose from!

I opened a bank account for my child and the member of staff was very kind and professional. The bank is very child friendly. Kids get colouring books while waiting for the account to be set up, and they also had great fun using magic money machine. Very pleased with the environment and the service.

My experience was a complete joy.

Got to the bank, parked up in the parking for customers, no problems.

Went to qué in line and I was seen immediately.

Metro bank even accepted old £50 notes and Gave me change on a weekend.

The level of service was top notice and I was treated very well.

This makes huge change compared to other banks who don't open the same hours or won't give you change on the weekends.

I'm surprised with the poor reviews. But I can't speak more highly of this bank and the staff who were there.

Don’t waste your time time! Try to open business account, six weeks later still pending and Nobody know anything, worst banking experience in 25 years, stay away,

Terrible bank, opened a joint safety deposit box and all of a sudden they changed their access policy without telling any customers. Result being I wasted a trip to the branch which cost me money, only to be told I couldn't access my own box. Do not trust this bank with a box, they don't communicate, change rules without telling you and risk you losing access to your own box. Will close it and go elsewhere. I advise you do the same.

The equivalent to JD Sport of banks, a dozen staff running around doing sod all, to make matters worse, last time I went they wouldn't let me deposit the suspiciously large amount of money I had (£30) and they asked for proof of where the money is coming from!
Online banks will soon make this dinosaur redundant.
