State Bank of India

Under no circumstances use this bank. We out some money in an ISA some years ago and getting it out or transferred (as they have to by law) to iur bank is quite impossible. The branch number goes straight through to the call centre anf the call centre say they can't deal with the issue you have to call the branch, when after much insistence the call centre puts you through the the branch it goes straight back to the call centre.
We have tried time and time again, even once actually spoke to the branch who promised us it was all sorted only for them to then refuse our banks request for the transfer two days later.
Even our bank can't deal with them. This bank feels like close to a scam!

We recently had a very positive experience of dealing with Ms Ekta Desai of the State Bank of India Branch. We visited her few times to inquire and clarify with respect to account opening in India and UK. She attended us with patience and full attention. On the day we arrived for the account opening, she was on time to attend us, with out any delays, meticulously processed all the papers, and answered our inquiries. I would encourage you to look out for her, Ms Ekta is very customer friendly and explain matters with patience to client's satisfaction. Thank you Ekta !

Have visited the Harrow branch several times over the last 10 days and was thoroughly satisfied with the service of Ekta Desai, she's a delightful person, so warm and ever so helpful. She made sure that we didn't leave without our work incomplete, an amiable and courteous member of staff indeed!

Staff needs more training about customer service. They don’t reply to email. Don’t expect phone calls are going to be answered and resolve issue.

I thought that it would be like a typical SBI banking experience just like all the other branches in india, but it was pretty good. The staff were extremely patient and helpful. I was dealt by a staff named Ekta Desai. She was patient, helped me with all the applications properly and explained things in detail. I would suggest to take an appointment and walk-in. The customer support team on the phone is of no use as they’re confused about their workflow and will confuse you in return. There is no atm, the staff at the bank weren’t able to help me out with debit card activation. So I guess I have to deal with the poor customer support phone lines.
