The staff at this bank have been brilliant. Opening a community account with this bank was so much easier than using any of the others. The staff ensured that our needs were catered for and provided a quick and efficient service. Would certainly recommend to other community groups.

Been my bank when it was still Midland Bank. Opened an account with them at school and I'm still using it. I even did my work experience here. Friendly and helpful

They made me come back there three times, and at every single time, each one of the staff wanted different things for me to open my bank account (I am an international worker with proper visa, BRP, passport, proof of employment and tenancy agreement), and every time when I come back to do one, it took them a very long time to check the details and ended up rejected my application because of "certain requirements" not been fulfilled. Somehow I feel like the difficulties I'm experiencing to set up a bank account with HSBC is like I'm applying for a job here and got rejected after attending the interview. And currently still waiting to see whether my bank account setup is approved or not. Bloody nuisance.

Telephone banking is not helpful, they answer the call, you give them your query, they put you on hold, even though it took them 30 minutes to answer the call, your holding on the telephone for a further 10 minutes, after which time they end the call.
Terrible customer service.
