Visited this SBI UK branch during my recent London visit. Staff is very helpful and tourist friendly. Helped me get change of my 50 GBP currency notes.. even though I don't have account here, the staff helped me with lot of information and getting lower denomination currency notes. Especially thankful to Mr. Kulkarni who works in this branch. Located in Central London near Bank Station just opposite to Guildhall Art Gallery.

Absolutely incompetent staff, even though office is overstaffed and office not busy. I have gone there twice trying to update my correspondence address that have been wrong since a couple of years. Spent a long time filling in forms that have been sent to their back offfice presumably in India for the address never to be updated. Hopeless! The matter have even been escalated to their Senior Management and still nothing has happened.

My brother have been dealing with SBI for years and is unhappy, now that he has aged and can’t travel to the bank, they have been giving him run around in regards to transfer of their funds.
He wishes that no one ever gets involved with this crooked bank.

Worse ever service from SBI bank. I have an account with SBI King street branch and my account is working fine. I bought new house and send them form by post form that i have downloaded from sbi uk website and also two copy of documents(Driving license and bill showing new address) and they did not do anything after 1 month. I have changed address on YONO account and it was working fine and applied for new debit card. I have received dabit card and trying to activate card and call them and they told me your branch frozen your account. My house is far away from branch, so it will cost me more then £100 to go SBI branch. I have to take holiday and also travel cost. It is very difficult for me to go there. Now, i need to send money to india but i can not send because of account frozen. Tried to call and it is going to sbi contact center instead of branch.

Bank account froze without any notification

Have been an SBI-UK customer for more than 6 years. Tried sending money to India using their international remittance and transaction keep getting failed. When spoke to Keertha in SBI-UK contact centre, she mentioned that Bank froze my acccount without any intimation. Now i need to visit any of their 11branches in UK with my ID and address proof to reactivate my account.

Trust score - Zero/10
Customer service - 9/10 (The lady tried her best to help, but helpless)
Would i bank with them again - Probably.. But if the same issue arises, would look elsewhere as there are enough options.
This review is to just to make other customers like me aware, as your funds may be on hold for a while, so assert caution before trying to use SBI-UK for remittance.

Date of report - 05/11/22
Agent spoken - Keerthana
Date since issue faced - 29/11/2022

Will head to bank and hopefully bank should unfreeze my account!! Good luck all using the biggest bank of India (in UK)

This bank has good interest rates for fixed term bonds (2 to 5 years). These can be opened and operated online. It is only open 10am to 2pm on weekdays. It is easy to transfer funds to India if you have a current account with them. It is easily accessible from Mansion House or Bank tube stations.

Poor online as well as offline (in-branch) service. Shame that as patriotic person one would assume to open a savings account with this bank. SBI India has improved a lot when will SBI UK wake up?

The mobile app is like the SARKAARI offices crashes after 6 pm frequently. The Mobile app does not register any UK address and the fill in tabs can not be filled manually. I had to visit the branch in person and was promised that the address will be updated in 2-3 days (which is stupid and lame as app would do it in 10 min, if it decides to work!). The address was not changed ever. Thankfully, one day I could do it through the Mobile APP.

A new Debit card was dispatched to my address and as it is advised to block old ATM debit card, only 2 options appear on the App, LOST/Stolen, but no "card expired" option.

While trying to generate a new password the internet banking keeps crashing.

Zero customer satisfaction
Zero dedication of staff
Zero work ethics of the staff.

My previous experiences with SBI UK have been painful to say the least, but today I was served by Michael who was simply excellent. He explained everything well, made me feel comfortable and is very professional. I am leaving a review because I think he needs some sort of acknowledgement for his work given that it has improved my rating from 0 to 5 stars for SBI bank
