I called into the branch on Saturday morning the 28th, this was the first time in many years of going into a bank. I initially set off with dreaded fear of being messed about and being passed around, expecting to have to make an appointment.
I couldn't be more wrong! The branch is so welcoming and friendly. The moment I stepped inside I was asked by a staff member how they could help. I was then greeted by a consultant who went through my requirements so professionally and speedily leaving me very impressed with the way we were treated. The branch is lovely inside and nothing like the old fashioned tills and glass screens.
I even managed to re-set my card pin number without all the old hassle of letters or phone calls back and forth. I was in and out in no time at all and very impressed with the excellent customer service provided, well done the team.

This review is by Jackie Hankinson, wife of Les. We opened our joint account with Barclays in 1965 and I have used telephone banking since Barclays first introduced it and gave mobile phones as incentive. I have never had difficulty transferring money using the automated system until this evening. I successfully passed through the security and was then told I could not transfer. I phoned on the manned system and was asked additional questions. I made one error when asked for two numbers from my passcode but gave these from my telephone banking number in error. As a result I was unable to transfer the money I needed, but limited to transferring £200. Obviously Barclays accepted my right to transfer my own money as they offered £200 so why could I not access the £500 required which was sitting in our Bank account. Is this how Banks now treat customers?

1 star is the lowest I can go, absolutely disgusted in the service received in branch and via telephone, only helpful depart was complaints who were very understanding. After being told I had a 15minute slot where I could be late (via customer service), due to running late (newborn and disability). My husband ran ahead and was there between the 15 minute gap to be told it was 10 minutes so we were then 2minutes late and they would not accommodate and told us no!! The journey for us to this branch is 30 minutes. However complaints handled it very well.

I have ALWAYS found the staff most helpful & supportive in every way!
I would like 👍 to make particular mention of Naomi & Charlotte who are real stars ⭐️ & really understand me with my difficulties of my mental health issues & Asperger Syndrome!

Appalling customer service from a bank I have been with for over 30 years. Meet and greet staff at Salisbury branch need to learn some manners and be more polite. Never have I been treated so appallingly as I was today. Rude at best, patronising at worst.

Going to change my bank from Barclays to somewhere who will help me every time. Working 5 days, Thursdays the branch is closed. I don’t need to talk about the counter. When people have business accounts to pay in some cash with coins, how they will do that, when the counter is Closed. “Saturdays counters are not open.” Well why are you closed on Thursdays?

Barclays bank is Europe’s most prolific investor in fossil fuel projects. In fact, they’ve increased their investments in extractive projects in recent years. On their website, Barclays says its ‘purpose’ is to “deploy finance responsibly to support people and businesses.” Can you explain how spending £104 billion on fossil fuels is ‘responsible’, when climate breakdown causes 150,000 deaths each year? On their website, it also says that “Barclays’ success is judged by how they act responsibly for the common good and the long term. How is contributing to 150,000 deaths a year ‘responsible’? Their CEO was paid a £4 million bonus in 2020. On the website, it also says that Barclays provides assistance for people going through difficult times. In 2020, 55 million people were displaced due to climate change. Does Barclays provide support to their customers when they’re affected by extreme weather?
