Not much point in having an open branch that can't do transactions. Only wanted to withdraw from one account and pay into another as internet banking is off this weekend. Waste of money being open Saturdays!

COVID-19 WARNING - ENTER AT YOUR PERIL (!) I called at TSB Thornton Cleveleys branch yesterday to pay a cheque addressed to my elderly parents into their account. My father is 91 and my mother is 87 so they are ‘vulnerable people’ under COVID-19 guidelines. Accordingly, cleanliness is paramount because I am caring for my parents and cannot risk ANY infection . Upon approaching the branch I saw a LARGE chrome freestanding stand (the kind you see in a cinema or stately home) prominently placed on the pavement about 2m away from the door asking people to ‘WAIT UNTIL CALLED' which I duly did ... and I waited … and I waited but NOBODY came to the door. After some time I approached the glass and saw NOTHING … not ONE member of staff. So I had a look round and then noticed a MUCH smaller sign on the window stating the opening hours and upon checking concluded they had gone for lunch. Naturally, when I returned I complained to the member of staff who opened the door that they could have removed the LARGE sign from the pavement when they went for lunch rather than having me needlessly wait as per the sign instructions, her reply was surly “We have signs HERE and HERE telling YOU the opening hours” but when I (not unreasonably) suggested the pavement sign was (obviously ) more prominent and suggested they were open she snarled “I am NOT arguing with you (which she clearly was) but I haven’t got the time to bring that sign in (!)” before ushering me to the cash machine. But after inserting the card I was mindful of infection from the touchscreen so I enquired “Excuse me has this screen been sanitised?” to which she SNARLED “NO” so I asked her to please clean it to which she retorted “NO we haven’t got the time to clean it after EVERY person”. Obviously given the risk to my parents I was not prepared to accept that response so I repeated my request that she clean the screen but she REFUSED and simply pulled faces towards her colleagues behind the counter. The deputy manager then called me to the counter, so I repeated my (not unreasonable) complaint that the sign should have been removed if the branch was closed and complained she was refusing to sanitise the screen. Unbelievably the deputy manager also REFUSED to sanitise the screen and asked me to leave alleging I was being abusive to the staff (!) (when CCTV will confirm I simply asked for the screen to be cleaned) before suggesting I should carry my own sanitiser (!) and threatening that if I posted 'anything on social media etc. about her or the incident they would take action for data protection ' before picking up the phone and "calling the Police to have me forcibly removed". Unfortunately for the staff I am legally qualified and understand the laws on 'abuse' and 'data protection' and there were no breaches of either so I said I would wait for the Police to attend because I wanted to speak to them about their refusal to sanitise the screens during a COVID-19 outbreak. Unsurprisingly, she ended the call to the Police and another manager then stormed out of the office, opened the door and also demanded that I leave. Videos confirm I was only asking for the screen to be sanitised. I have since complained to head office and some interesting facts have emerged, firstly, the staff SHOULD have been performing a DEEP CLEAN throughout the branch between 12.30 and 13.30 (NOT taking lunch). Further the deputy manager LIED about calling the Police (Head Office confirmed the call was fake) and lied about what was said to me. Accordingly, I have asked for the Regional Director to interrogate the CCTV footage to see what they actually did during that one hour closure (when they were SUPPOSED to be CLEANING) and also asked the Regional Director to interrogate the CCTV to confirm there was no abuse, rather the staff were REFUSING to sanitise the screen. Crucially, CCTV will confirm I would not go near the machine (to even eject the card) when TSB refused to sanitise it. I expect the staff to be dismissed before I escalate to the national press.

Love the TSB Cleveleys. Been with the TSB about 50 years +. Like the staff and the friendly approach they give to customers. Keep up the good work you do. Dave

No issues, prefer this bank (Cleveleys) to Blackpool town centre one.. you think the staff are "rude" in this one, try in there!! Shame it's closing, I get why but I can imagine there is alot of call for it as it serves the majority elderly location. I do find this bank quieter, quicker and alot handier to get to than the one in town, especially when I have my toddler with me or need to be quick in my tasks.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Tried to call about an urgent matter and got hung up and told not to call as they are too busy

Not long ago I'd have given this branch 5 stars. However since laying off staff they no longer have a counter service and everything has to be done via the machine. Why not have the member of staff who is standing at the machine helping people use the machine behind the counter instead thereby saving everyone time and annoyance. It's a ridiculous decision. I was told I could pay in a cheque at the PO but I want it paid straight in at the bank. They now also close at lunch time and they were closed at 12.20 today when I arrived, despite it saying they closed at 12.30. It's time I took my personal and business banking to another bank. Sadly I think TSB have decided that this branch's days are numbered....
