What a joke!!!!.... Firstly they decide to close on Thursdays and Saturdays and don't even bother to update their website to let customers know. Then, because they were closed on the Thursday I had to go in on Friday to arrange to withdraw quite a largw sum of money. They them told me I couldn't have the cash until Monday as they were closed on the Saturday. Which was no good to me. I needed the money that day. So they then charged me £20 to give me a bankers draft, which i was told was as good as cash and could be paid into an account and would clear immediately. When the draft was presented at another branch the guy I gave the draft to was then told that it would take 5 working days to clear. So basically the branch at Bethnal Green had blatently lied to me through their teeth. The worst bank EVER!!!!

Careful when you deposit cash in the counter some of the woman staff steal it whilst talking to you and confusing you with the amount you decide to put in. I experienced this twice by one of the white ladies working there she took £40 off my £360 like I didn’t notice. She slipped it under and thought I wouldn’t notice lucky I had a receipt from another bank showing that’s how much I had on me and I gave it to her the exact amount. First time she took it second time I confronted her.

I queued at the counters to order a paper statement, only to be told I had to go to the help desk, where there was also a queue. I asked why I couldn't be served at the counter, and the staff member said repeatedly it was because I had an 'enquiry'!!? I asked how customers were supposed to know where different services were offered when there were no signs, and he said: 'You walked past the help desk you should have asked there'. It's never a good idea to blame the customer when the service is confusing! I was then told twice that I'd have to pay for a paper statement, even though I explained I'd already checked online and I did not have to pay in this instance, which was correct. Sadly, I found the customer service today to be rude, frustrating and inaccurate. The woman at the help desk was thankfully more accommodating than the guy at the counter, and she at least had the grace to apologise and offer options, which is why I'm giving two stars rather than one.

Was told to wait 30-40 minutes to speak to a member of staff at the desk. After waiting 40 minutes I was then told it would be another hour because the 1 member of staff I needed was on hold to the fraud department for over an hour (not what you want to hear from your bank). I asked to make an appointment to avoid wasting more time and was told it would be a 1 hour wait to speak to somebody who can make an appointment. Staff were rude, unhelpful, unapologetic and unwilling to accept any responsibility or offer any solutions. I don't trust these people with my money. Changing banks.

Very poor service from staff. Also expect a long queue and customer service is designed badly because when you take and give your details to customer service (not the cashier) the next customer behind is 1 foot behind you. The staff should learn some polite manner.

Went in this branch because I had an issue with my bank account’s address as it wasn’t displaying correctly on my app and I couldn’t even apply for a credit card, the advisors have been so helpful and kindly and patiently helped me through this issue. They went above and beyond for me and finally after two weeks my address has been correctly updated. Can’t thank you enough. Antonio

To all halifax customers, change to another bank and just see the difference in service. Managers are no where to be seen in the bank.

Very slow service with lack of staff. Unbelievable of how long I waited just for print out of statement. An hour long wait. This is disgusting behaviour and your so quick to charge and take money from customers. Will think of alternative bank now. Thanks for your lack of staffing
