This was probably one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long, long time. Every dish we had was phenomenal. The 2 bottles of wine were very good too. The best cheesecake to have walked this earth.

overall: delicious food though nothing particularly memorable apart from cheesecake (MUST ORDER). cosy romantic atmosphere. tho certain waiters are not keen to help (we wasn’t aware that we had a waiter assigned to our table initially)

jamon iberico 🥓: not an expert in cured meat, but it’s not too oily, nor too salty.

guernica peppers 🫑: basic but good.

pan con tomate 🥖: generous amount of refreshing tomatoes. tho maybe a bit too much as bread became soggy really quick.

grilled octopus 🐙: disappointing. it was grilled til tender. but the tentacles doesn’t taste of anything, lack of salt.

fries 🍟: one of the best fries i’ve had. it’s between fries & chips, just the right thickness. extremely crispy & seasoned with addicting paprika.

rubia gallega 🥩: rich meaty flavours. tender & not fatty at all. would personally prefer it to be more pink as some areas are slightly rubbery.

tomato salad 🍅: refreshing & sweet.

basque cheesecake 🍰: MVP of the night. extremely smooth silky, yet retains the richness of cheese. absolutely divine.

The food here is absolutely gorgeous.
I would highly recommend
- Sourdough with Bone Marrow 5.90
- Grilled Octopus 21.50 (smokey, tender, with an amazing sauce)
- 14 yr Bone Aged Rib Eye 72 (rich flavour and juicy)
- & the cured Jamon Iberico 18.50 (so tender with amazing flavour).

The meat is so tender and intense in rich meaty flavour, it makes me salivate just thinking about it.
Would definitely recommend as a special occasion meal or any reason to bring food lovers together.
The waiters are so lovely and made us feel so welcomed :)

The fish was absolutely delicious. Good atmosphere. I do feel it's slightly over priced for the menu we had which was £60pp as it didn't include as many items and we'd have liked but it was still a lovely meal!

Really not happy with the experience. We made our appointment on the internet and also noted that this is for friends birthday but no related preparations, not even candles on cakes. And the octopus was grilled too much and tasted so bitter, told the waiter but the only response was “ok, sorry, I’ll talk to the chef”. The bone marrow tasted just plain oil, no other tastes. The steak we asked for is medium, but have a look at the pic, I think it’s over done and some part of it is really not chewable. The cheesecake which should be fluid in the center, but as you can see, this cake is not like that.
Then the service, we came early, there were not much people there and the service was good but when people became more and more, it’s much harder to get waiters attention.
Not looking into the bill carefully, but I remember there were two VAT, not sure why.

We are big steak lovers and This place is absolutely excellent. For this visit a special thanks for the incredible experience we had with The manager, Alex. We had been to Lurra a few times before but this time We ordered the Italian 100 day aged rib eye and actually thought it was off. Not only did Alex offer me a steak that I would like but he spent the rest of the afternoon explaining the distinct taste of this steak we had originally ordered. We had such great discussions about steak and wine and he really took his time with us. Instead of making us feel bad as customers trying something new he made us feel incredibly welcome and taught us lots! Thanks to this experience we would definitely come again. Thank you Alex you ROCK and hope to see you soon again for another great meal. Also the wine and pedro Ximenez was 10/10!

I've had a really nice time. The food was tasty and fresh. The service was very good and kind. I would love to suggest this place. For sure that will be a nice time if that is your choice. Cheers guys!

Really good grilled Octopus and Steak. Cheesecake was also awesome. Service was chaotic though and is something they need to look at. Perhaps due to staff shortages. But worth visiting again
